Takumi Minamino will undergo a medical on Wednesday as he edges nearer a move to Liverpool.

The European champions have agreed to trigger a £7.25million release in the player’s Red Bull Salzburg contract to bring him to Anfield in the New Year.

If no issues are discovered, the 24-year-old attacker is then expected to complete his move when the transfer window opens on January 1.

  1. Good player and shrewd from Liverpool who hardly ever buy a 'Galactico' and for good reason. The club have always bought diminutive, skilled and tenacious players who have done well. The slump for the club came when they bought 'target' men such as Crouch, Balotelli and Benteke, i.e they went against their own footballing ethos and paid the price. Minamino is very much an LFC style player so yay!.

  2. Surprised he is so cheap. Why are RB not asking for more considering the overall market and others in a similar position have gone for and he has ECL experience. I’m obviously not complaining, the cheaper the better, bit it is oddly low. You would pay more for an average Championship player.

  3. Now go buy another defender. Squad looked very thin with VVD out, another big central defender is needed, that starting 11 will not win the league. 🤞Matip and Lovren are close to return, we need them.

  4. Personally I think he'll hit the ground running, he's a perfect fit a Klopp player with high energy, great technical ability, skills, tenacity & scores goals. Can unlock defences. He's a bolstering of manpower & firepower up front going into the second half of the season. We already have in our front 3 the best attacking trio in the world right now I feel, we're the European champions, on current form the best team in England. So I say welcome young man to LFC ❤️ YNWA #family #kloptimistic #kloppofthetable #Bigredmachine

  5. Mee-NAH-mee-no. Really, this is a name that any right-thinking scouser should find easy to pronounce.
Just imagine that somebody asks you: "Are you an Everton fan?"
"Me ??? Naaaahhhh! Me? No. (emphasis on the "aaahhh" sound, NOT the second "me")
    Me – NAH – me – no

    Easy peasy Japaneasy
