Matthias Lukas Ginter (German Matthias Lukas Ginter; January 19, 1994, March, Baden-Württemberg) – German footballer, player of the Borussia club from Mönchengladbach and the German national team. Plays in the positions of a central defender and a holding midfielder.

In the second season at Borussia in the match against Ingolstadt (4-0) Matthias scored his first goal for the club and was named the best player of the match.

On July 4, 2017, Ginter moved to Borussia Monchengladbach. Mattias signed a contract with the club until 2021 with the option of extending for another year. The transfer amount was 17 million euros, with a possible increase to 20 million thanks to bonuses.
