Welcome back to Stick to Football, brought to you by SkyBet.

In todayโ€™s episode, our special guest is one of the best goalkeepers ever in Peter Schmeichel, joined by hosts Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott.

We kick things off with Jamie Carragher sharing how the legendary Danish 1992 Euro champion Peter helped him experience the iconic Yellow Wall at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

The 1999 treble winner reflects on his career before turning pro, including some early jobs in a textile factory which he believes helped him in football.

Schmeichel shares a behind-the-scenes story from the dressing room, where he once clashed with Sir Alex Ferguson in an Anfield dressing room, whilst Roy and Peter dive into their infamous fallout and discuss their brawl.

The panel debate who the best goalkeeper in the world is and Peter opens up about his close bond with his son, fellow goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel; reflecting on Leicesterโ€™s famous Premier League triumph and why he believes Celtic is currently the perfect club for him.

Lastly, donโ€™t miss the post-show treatโ€”Peter picks up the guitar for a sing-along session!

  1. Really good episode – Schmeichel is a hall of famer. Really tired of the constant Man Utd focus though. Please mix it up! Does no one else want to come on the show? ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. Peter Schmeichel, winning titles with Brondby, many more with Man Utd, even with Sporting CP, and the Euro with Denmark(!), but just getting emotional speaking about his son's achievement with Leicester City. Proud father. Respect ๐Ÿ’ฏ

  3. Apart from a certain bbc1 series which I've been watching since the 80's, Gary Neville's Overlap is the only show that i would sit down for over an hour and watch with enjoyment.
I've had a few 'brush ups' or contacts if you like, with a few known premier league players in the 90's.
    The good old days

  4. See how everyone was so captivated listening to Peter great story teller & a proper insight into how Peter is as a person. How the players at utd could learn a valuable lesson by watching this episode in so many aspects of they could take away 5

  5. Schmeichel says ferguson wanted you to fire back at him if he had a go at you and then in the next sentence said ferguson threaten him with the sack for talking back to him.

  6. Martinez didn't prove Arsenal wrong. He didn't want to stay and fight for number 1, we knew his quality already but he was Backup to Leno at the time

  7. Raya won goldem glove last season having played a few games less as he joined late in that summer window, yet he's not mentioned as one of the best!?
