  1. This isn't new.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's red card in Saturday's 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth has been overturned following a successful appeal.

Mac Allister was shown a straight red card and faced a three-match suspension after he was deemed to have unfairly challenged Ryan Christie.

  2. Was never a red. Down to 10 men lost us the game. United would have gotten a proper foothold like they did in the second half with 10 men. Ref had it in for United, and booked Mount as soon as he came on. United are owed a replay, or a point

  3. Rio Ferdinand said a few years ago we should just throw VAR in the bin. We've tried it and it hasn't worked, not because it's not good but because it's used by people who have biases and that won't change. What's the point in backing the ref because you don't want to 'undermine' him? If he's made a mistake VAR should be there to correct it not pat them on the back ffs.

  4. For a start, under the current rules teams ARE allowed to appeal regardless of VAR, secondly the rules don't say that cynical is automatically a red card and many cynical fouls are only yellow cards and thirdly a challenge worthy of a card is either a yellow card or a red card and a three-match ban and absolutely nothing in between i.e. a red card and a one-match ban and this is a pet hate of mine.

Maybe the rules should say a red card is a one, two or three match ban depending on the severity of the offence of each individual case.

  5. Anyone saying this is a red card are just stupid or biased it's called a professional foul it's simple maddison doesn't think it's a red and does the premπŸ€£πŸ˜‚βœŒοΈ

  6. I watched the game and it could of gone either way as a yellow or red, the ref has seen it as a red and var has backed him up if var overturned it to a yellow I wouldn’t have cared but the appeal is a joke. Maybe someone should appeal a foul earlier in the game where Bruno probably should have got a yellow but didn’t so probably should have had a red anyway.
The challenge was reckless, he had the opportunity to pull out of it but didn’t, he had the intent to take out another player which could have seriously injured them so the red should have stood and the FA should back there staff not bow to the clubs.
