Maddison or Grealish? Who do you think is better? If it was out of the two, who would you start at the Euros?
Gareth southgate has summed up england through his experience of not being a team to trade blows with the big boys. So he created a philosphy of block and counter. However he blocks higher up the pitch with ball winners like dier henderson rice with some measure of success. However he is caught in a catch 22 situation. Where the infusion of foreign players has produced english players with similar styles. Maddisson grealish foden winks delph are all dribblers good with the ball in traffick. So he might progress england further in tournaments but it might be at the expense of a generation of creative ones which england might never have seen before. And he could inadvertently stunt the english players evolution. He is a good coach but he might be in the wrong era.

It's incredible to think that in attacking positions this guy is basically an England squad standby player if a bunch of other players get injured. We've come a long way since the dark days. Trouble he has is that Mount, Sancho, Foden, and Grealish are ahead of him, and then he's got Saka, Greenwood, Harvey Barnes to fight it out with, and then Southgate favourites Sterling and Rashford too. I just can't see how he gets in. Nice to think that in an emergency injury situation we can all up such a talented player though.

It is a decent squad and I am so happy for Jarrod and Justin. I wanted James Maddison as he arguably had a better season than any British midfielder but as Southgate plays a 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 his system lacks place for a conventional no.10.
I think he can be tried in an 8 but there are a couple issues with that. One is the obvious competition in that position with Rice,Jude, Jordan, Phil, Kalvin and even James Ward-Prowse ahead of him in the queue. Secondly, it depends on how he adapts to an 8 as well. Nonetheless, he is knocking on that door consistently with quality performances.
I am glad that Tomori is shining in Italy. He really took his chance as Simon Kjær unfortunately tore his hamstring at the turn of the year.
