Two-Footed Tackle, Should Lisandro Martinez Be Given a Red Card?
Lisandro Martinez is said to be lucky to escape a red card when Manchester United drew with Crystal Palace. His two-footed tackle was very risky.
Martinez came on as a starter when Manchester United visited Crystal Palace, in the continuation of the Premier League. The match was difficult with a final score of 0-0.

In the 63rd minute, Martinez was involved in a fight for the ball with Palace player Daichi Kamada. The Argentine defender dueled by stepping on both feet.
Indeed, his action did not injure Kamada because he only stepped on his opponent’s foot a little. However, the action was considered dangerous and could have ended badly for Kamada.

“He was probably a bit lucky in that moment. There was almost no need to make a two-footed tackle. And I think if he had missed just a little, I think he would have seen a different card,” said former MU defender Phil Jones as quoted by Sky Sports.
Referee David Coote decided to give Martinez a yellow card. A decision that surprised Palace manager Oliver Glasner.

“He was lucky to touch the ball and not our player’s shin. Otherwise he would have broken his (Kamada’s) leg,” Glasner said.
