Everton could not get the victory their display deserved at Leicester – but they got off the mark for the first time this season with an encouraging 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.
Iliman Ndiaye further cemented his status as an early fans’ favourite with a 12th-minute opener, playing a neat one-two with Ashley Young before hitting a sweet finish off the left-hand post.
Not for the first time this term, the Blues could – and should – have scored more as their attacking play caught the eye.
And for the fourth game in a row, they conceded a lead when Stephy Mavdidi bundled home from a corner with 17 minutes remaining.
