Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier says he is not bothered by Jurgen Klopp’s criticism of the side’s style of play. Atletico, who set up defensively, came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 3-2 in their UEFA Champions League last-16 encounter at Anfield with Klopp dumbfounded by the result after the game. ESPN FC’s Sid Lowe and Julien Lauren discuss Trippier’s comments with Laurens saying “yes of course it worked” but Trippier “needs to be honest” with how Atletico Madrid’s approach is perceived.

You are a defensive side only if you choose to defend against weaker teams despite having good players, ie; Mourinho. But in big games you do whatever it takes to win, be it playing with 10 defenders.

Atletico did great job… We saw Liverpool side performed in a way what no Spanish teams could perform in this season who is that guy,? the saltiness with English media and their critics 😂😂, Atletico defence has been legendary in last decade because of their defensive football, were these people under the rocks or something??
