Its funny, watching with greek commentator I watched only half of the irish chances. Watching it with irish commentator I see only half of the greek ones 😀 . Great respect to the irish people and football!
This is the thing that I don't like with some center half … they don't think that they have the ability to step out of their comfort zone the 18 yards box and make a successful tackle… and this is about the first goal against Ireland number 4 the central defender he saw the play and his job was to step up into it … but because the attacker barely moved his body the defender back up and by the time he could recover the space too wide and that gave the attacker all the time in the world to pick his spot .
the first I would blame for the way things are going is the FAI with their disastrous attempts at bringing in a new management team. Instead of having a couple of months or even weeks to work with the players they had three days. The people in charge are a joke and should not be running a raffle, and definitely not a sports organisation..
Ive been an Ireland supporter all my life, seen lots of games, but these last couple of years its been painful to watch. I was at the England and Greece games and we are poor. Ill always support the lads, but i wish we could improve. Dire.
That 2nd goal isn't being talked about enough, I feel. It was a result of everything you look for in an attacking player; awareness, speed, strength, decision making, clinical finishing and a little fancy footwork sprinkled on to finish
If Endrick, Salah or Vini had scored that goal, you'd never hear the end of it
Fair play to Greece, they counter attacked well and got the win. Looking at this window as a whole, our performance was much improved from the England game; alas yet again we came undone by sloppy defending – both goals were, as I see it, preventable. It was also troubling to see “our heads drop” a little after the first goal, something that we have been seeing a LOT recently.
As a die-hard Ireland fan it hurts me to admit that at the moment we seem to be in a slump and have a “losing mentality” right now. That was pretty much confirmed When both by Heimer saying that his players are “lacking confidence” in public and the team captain saying his team are “tired of losing” – on the same day. When things get this bad, something is clearly amiss in the mental preparation area.
That is not easily changed, but for what it’s worth, I’ll ask this question: is the FAI utilizing High Performance / Mental Preparation Training? I know that it has worked for Athletics Ireland and it is considered “the norm” in a lot of professional sports…Just a thought.
Either ways we need to give Heimer the support to turn things around – as he will. There are NO magic fixes to this, and it will probably happen one thing as a time…But real Ireland fans have no choice but to give him that time…To those you who don’t want to wait, take a cynical approach, and make stupid comments: don’t bother watching the next game; no one is forcing you. COYBIG…
As football fans…. Ireland team was the worse national team ever….sorry guys….I very disappointed….I don't understand they have a good player…they should Play at euro or world cup
Time to give players like Feste Ebosele, Andrew Moran, Roco Vata and Joe Hodge a proper run in the team, whatever about them offering better they surely cant offer worse than what Matt Doherty and co are producing currently
The Irish and the Greeks share a socio-historical profile that some may not recognise .. both small agricultural nations, subdued for centuries by neighbouring Imperial powers, they've endured famine, emigration, civil war but remain a people who love to drink, sing and dance .. you've got to love them, proper mental!
Last year I visited Ireland and I loved every bit of it, most awesome people I've met so far. I hope your national team bounces back at some point. Greetings from GR.
Ι remember how good EIRE was in the mid/late 80s – early 90s with Jackie Charlton as a coach…John Aldridge, Tony Cascarino, McGrath…What the hell happens now…?(a fan from Greece)

Just leave football and stick to rugby
You watch that game and Ireland looked good in the build up, then the final third is just total toilet, defending as well is non existent.
Two classy goals by Greece.
Smallbone looked good in 1st half, controlling midfield then utterly pish in second hal🤷♂️
Stamm Glens
They didn't include all the greek highlights and goal opportunities only the goals and some free kicks…
The Ireland goal shouldn't have been dislowed
Lol, we're more of a gaa nation I suppose
FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸🔻
UEFA nations league just another pointless competition from the governing body .
Fun fact: Greece has more euro cups than England
And 11 months later… same result and…same comments in Irish social media / TV:
"Greece are piss poor, I can have a LOI team beat them"
"We shouldn't be losing to the likes of Greece"
"We're higher in the pecking order"
"Greece are s**te "
George Best. Oops wrong Team!!🤧

We were shite, players are not good enough and don't put in the same effort as they used to. Might be because a lot of them are English
We are shite

Ireland, China and Australia all walk into the pub. All of their goalkeepers can't stop dropping their pints on the floor.
Iceland beat England 1-0 at wembley in June .. Think about that.. this ireland team need therapy
