Not sure which Americans you are speaking to; but most of the U.S. Podcasters & people commenting, were crying the blues. Yes, most of them believe that Pochettino will save their sinking ship; but that is putting an enormous amount of pressure on Pochettino & the players to turn it around very quickly. Marsch's quick success just adds to the pressure on Pochettino.
Most of those Podcasters acknowledged that Canada dominated the 1st half & that the U.S. goal was offside &;that Canada should have won 4-0.
David has been terrific since the match versus France. His overall game is elite.
If he & Larin keep playing at this level, it is only a matter of time before Larin breaks out & begins to score again.
People cruticize Larin; but so far, Jesse Marsch loves his overall game too.
The U.S. players wanted to win thst match, because they had lost their 2 previous matches & they knew that Pochettino was watching. They just weren't expecting Canada to come at them like s Tornado.
Everbody is talking about Canada not winning in the U.S. for so long.
The overall record, when the U.S. plays in Canada:
In 14 matches the U.S. have only won 3 times. Clearly playing on home field is a major advantage; but nobody talks about the fact that CONCACAF is rigged, as the U.S. have homefield advantage in over 95% of their matches, including the Gold cup & Nations League.
When the U.S. played in Qualifiers, in which all teams play home & away, they failed to qualify in 2018 & they tied 4th place Costa Rica in points in 2022. They are not very good on the road; but nobody talks about it when assessing their team.
I've never watched any of your stuff before, but I was super impressed with Alex's tactical analysis and player evaluations. Probably the best analysis of the Canadian team & players I've heard recently. Good job.
