Manchester United desperately need some fresh energy in midfield and Manuel Ugarte is getting ready to make his debut.

He completed a full 90 minutes for Uruguay plus another 78 minutes before and although his fitness isn’t 100%, is he ready to have an impact?

Let’s discuss how Ugarte will change Man United, precisely what to expect from him and where we should be prepared to give him time to adapt.

  1. I love the positivity. But that depends on Bruno and Mainoo instruction by ETH, which still allowing them to go everywhere on the pitch. You see Mainoo & Bruno in the wing, and inside the box when attacking. If United keep playing Lone DM, Ugarte will be overwhelm by opposition midfield on transition and then suffer the same fate as Casemiro. Perhaps because he still young & can run fast, the damage won't be the same. But it's like playing with fire without safety hazard.

  2. Trouble is our midfield is often left far too open which often leads to Casemiro being isolated which means his weaknesses are getting exploited frequently. Whilst Ugarte will be able to cover space better cos he's more energetic & younger more mobile we either need a full back to step in midfield to help plug the gap or to play a high line to help cover the space in midfield. This is where we need to have more possession more control of the ball. These next few weeks are critical for Ten Hag

  3. It’s just that simple pass to keep the possesion and find the teammates thats what our DM should be doing and thats what ugarte does but casemiro is trying to be very creative in that role which ends up losing the ball in that area where the defence will not get enough time to adjust and maintain the defensive position which ends up causing the goal like the recent incident against Liverpool. Any way thats the managers job to guide such thing whether casemiro is doing with such thing or he’s been told to do so such things.

  4. Then, if Ugarte comes in and he struggles to get passes away, we can assume that the system is the problem and that it offers little to no options playing out the back?

Considering that his best ability is finding and making a relatively accurate pass most of the time

  5. Almost all of Liverpool's main chances came from mistakes. We were different than last season otherwise..but noone wants to see that because the team are not gratifying them ..at present. Patience.

  6. Thumbnail, nothing will change with 1 like for like change regardless of Ugarte's energy, come on Sam, player and p..profile is the ETH problem.

  7. No matter how good he is, it wont change the team performance. The key is on the coach. Its sad to see another takented player sent to graveyard

  8. If Ten Hag doesn't start him, he's an idiot it his jobs on the line common sense. Will he be fit enough? He played fucking last night FFS course hes fit enough sick of this nonsense….

  9. There should be a better understanding btw these three martinez ,ugarte , de ligt…if that happens our team will be solid no more stoppage time goals..game will be finished much early

  10. The 4-2-4 formation leaves the team exposed, Liverpool showed exactly how to get through it. Yes it worked against man city but it's been found out. Even with ugarte in the team we would still take in goals

  11. Bruno must be more decipline in the middle of the park. He's far too away from the middle 2 players. Ugarte will improve the middle of the park

  12. the issue is not Rashford or Casemiro or Mainoo or De Ligt or any of them, the issue is more about the manager. good managers deploy their players in area of their strengths so as to play them for what they are good at and an example of that is Zinchenko, he is as average as it can be, but Arteta plays him for his strength which makes him look good and the same is said for Arnold in Liverpool. Ten Hag doesn't do that at all, and this is what is creating the issue. he needs to be sacked.
