      Great though he undoubtedly is much of Messi’s monumental success is predicated on a few fairly generous slices of good fortune.
      For starters he found himself chief goal scorer in one of the greatest club sides of all time. How great? Well the Spanish side that was built essentially around Baca minus Messi were the most successful international team of all time. Add to that the foreign talent that more than ably assisted him: Henry; Neymar; Suarez; Eto, ect. All the while cruising in what was/is a two team league (Athletico ‘s brave resistance notwithstanding).
      Skilled players of Messi’s generation have hugely benefited from changes in the law that see them treated with kid gloves compared to gifted players of earlier times. Pele and Maradona endured a level of physical assault that modern players thankfully, can only imagine.
      And this obsession of using trophies won as a measure of greatness is misleading; football is a team game : some of the individuals who played in the Bayern/ west Germany teams of the seventies can begin to match Messi for trophies won and no one is making claims for their greatness.
      I believe what Maradona achieved with Argentina and especially Napoli is equal to anyone, and he wasn’t playing with the best players in the world ; he did it playing AGAINST the best in the world.

      Messi usually do things with the ball that no other player in the world has ever been able to do..he's the most talented and most creative player ever..not even the great pelle..

      Messi brings everything and does everything. CR7 is a tremendous finisher when he isn't diving and pretending he was fouled, but Messi brings so much more to the game. CR7 may leave 2 or 3 at best behind while Messi faces 3-8 and leaves them behind. You can't compare the two. We got to live in the Messi generation and we saw the greatest there has been up to today. Will there be a greater one? Eventually I imagine but for now, the GOAT.

      The first jersey I ever bought was Number 30 Messi, This man is magical, So Good every body was scared of him, his teammates thought of themselves Lucky to be his teammates, mangers said he made them the best Coach in the world 🌍!
