Week 1 has officially arrived as we get set to preview Sunday’s matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium!
Dolphins vs. Jaguars Preview
– Take a dive into our top keys to victory as the Miami Dolphins look to begin the 2024 NFL season 1-0 for the fourth straight season. Head coach Mike McDaniel looks to remain unbeaten in season openers while Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill will look for repeat performance of last year’s season opener.
– The Dolphins offensive line will have their hands full with Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker as the Jaguars pass-rushing duo led the NFL with 27.5 combined sacks last year. Dolphins offensive tackles Terron Armstead and Austin Jackson will be tasked with keeping Tagovailoa upright on Sunday!
– With a scarcity at wide receiver, look for the Dolphins to utilize De’Von Achane and Jonnu Smith in the passing game, especially with the Jaguars having one of the top up-and-coming cornerbacks in the NFL in Tyson Campbell.
– New faces on the defensive side of the ball will be put to the test early on Sunday as Jordyn Brooks and Jordan Poyer will need to know where Jaguars tight end Evan Engram is at all times. The Jaguars no longer have Calvin Ridley at receiver, but hope to replace his production with Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr.
– Another new face with defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver is Calais Campbell as the Dolphins attempt to replace Christian Wilkins. Campbell and the rest of the Dolphins defense will be tasked with containing Travis Etienne who is one of the more complete running backs in the entire NFL.
– The Miami Dolphins injury report featured 13 players including Jaelan Phillips, Aaron Brewer and Jalen Ramsey. Expect Jaelan Phillips to be on a pitch count while we all simultaneously hold our breath regarding Jalen Ramsey and his hamstring injury.

Benny..I don't want the season to start. Don't like starting off with all these injuries. Not good. I could go another month, with no football. Nothing fun about watching a game with so many injured. All these fans wanted it…be careful what one asks for.

Am I wrong when I think Miami year in and yr out have 1/2 hurt- the season hasn’t started and we have these guys hurt- is it conditioning- age- or trainers fault- can you imagine when we are 7 games in- I worry

I cheated and looked up the answer to the trivia question because it was bothering me too much! Lol, so I won't put the answer in the comments. But I do have a question for next video… if you could pick Tua or Lawrence as the Dolphins QB moving forward, who would you go with? Both were hyped up quite a bit coming out of college, and despite Lawrence being the number one overall pick, I think Tua has outperformed him so far during their NFL careers. FinsUp!!
