Arsenal have agreed a deal that sees goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale leave and join Southampton for £18M. In this video, we talk about how I believe Arsenal did a great job of selling him for this price and why the deal is not as bad as you think. Let me know what you think in the comments!

  1. Ramsdale is a great character, he came into the club under a shadow, with a lot of people looking at how he had been in two relegated teams. His performances during a huge transitional phase for Arsenal, combined with his personality and the passion he showed, won the fans over. I would have loved to see Ramsdale stay and improve in quality.

Arteta being quite ruthless has the upside of making players acknowledge they have to bring their best, no freeloaders or players looking to cash in and sit on the bench. The downside may be that players loyalty to the club may wane if they see themselves as easily discarded. ESR and Ramsdale may feel they weren't given a fair opportunity to get their place back in the team. Wherease Aubameyang who was a high quality player, showed poor leadership and mentality.

Raya has shown his quality with big saves in the first two games. Knowing he's the confirmed number 1 is probably going to settle his nerves, which was an issue early on last season.

Sad to see Ramsdale go, but the club has to keep pushing onwards.

    Great video as always.

  2. This is a cheap deal how is it a great deal?? If you consider the price we buy him, his performances and he became international, how can we say this is a great deal no this is a shitty one!!

  3. I support this move because he needs to be in the England national team for the world cup, from the way pickford is playing he might grab the number one position.

  4. I don’t like Ramsdale but Arsenal sold him for £18m is way too cheap. And the asking price for Garcia is £30m where he’s not an EPL proven yet and just got promoted to La Liga. Not really a good deal tbh.

  5. Rambo is a top man. I'm really grateful for his efforts that got us to where we are. I really hope he does well at Southampton and if they go down then he goes to a better club.
    Bon voyage Rambo!

  6. Great shot stopper, great character, but doesn’t fit the style of play any longer and Mikel didn’t like the ‘lack of concentration’ comment from Rambo in the Amazon interview. His sale says more about the development we have made as a team, rather than his personal development. Sitting on the bench gathers no value for him. Add in 120k wages, and I agree with Woklz, this is a decent deal and allows our team to move on. Best wishes Rambo!

  7. Arsenal's negotiator is actually terrible. ESR for 27m + add ons? Ramsdale for 18m? – if Arsenal wants to sign a keeper replacement for ramsdale – it will cost arsenal upwards of 35m, if arsenal wants to buy a player with ESR potential, it will cost arsenal upwards of 50m… If arsenal knew all transfer window that – 1) ESR, Ramsdale, Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Kieran tierney were all players that needed to move on , but not only is arsenal unable to offload tierney & nelson – they only got 70+m for the sale of ESR, Ramsdale and nketiah – which obviously covers the cost for merino and calafiori.

To rate this transfer window, arsenal did absolutely terrible – not only has the squad depth weaken, we havent gotten the no.1 priority position which is centre forward all summer. We have lost, ESR, Ramsdale, nketiah, Viera and the only positive we got is Calafiori, a left back/centre back – even though arsenal already have 6 players that can play left back on the team. (Tierney, Timber, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Kiwior & Calafiori)… at centre forward, we have a consistently injured Jesus and a makeshift Havertz as centre forward. Are we going to win the league with a weaken squad this season? probably not and if we dont win now, then when?
