  1. Our fanbase is destroyed. Either you're a toxic positivity, "trust the process" fan or you "don't trust the process" & deemed being negative! You just can't win. πŸ˜‚ Keep doing in what you believe in! πŸ‘

  2. Agree with the lineup, but Maresca has to start working on some tweaks to make the defense work better. Part of that is getting more structure in the midfield, part of that is not letting the team get so spread out all over the pitch all the time. That forward pressing system is brilliant when it works but it also pulls so many players forward that opposing teams are going to do to us what we did to Wolves.

And what I'm getting a little bit sick of seeing is Enzo looking lost too high up the pitch while Gusto looks just as lost in the midfield area and inevitably gets pulled out of anything resembling his position. Enzo isn't a 10 and Gusto has so far not looked much like a midfielder. Bluntly speaking, If we're not using Gusto to bomb down the right flank then I don't really see how he's offensively useful, and in that case we have to consider if he's a midfield 6 or a third CB. Or none of the above ,and therefore just not that useful unless we change the system.

Another thing to note is that if we think of Cucu, Colwill, and Fofana as a back three, and we think of Gusto, Cai, and Enzo as a midfield three, then that leaves four attacking players on the pitch. It's not quite a 5-5 split and for what's technically a 6-4 split, the defensive stability is actually quite poor. The problem here is, I don't think we can reasonably think of either of Cai or Enzo as attacking players, and we can't spare them for actual attacking players without gutting the midfield.

It's a tactical issue that I've written too many comments about since we hired Maresca. I just don't see a good solution.

  3. I think you're pretty spot on with this.
All this money spent and there are question marks surrounding our team.
How did we spend Β£120M on a guy with no mobility. Β£90M guy with only mobility. Only Gusto seems at the level we require in defence. Sold Gallagher (ridiculous) and ousted Chucky, who was starting to look decent.
Thank goodness Madueke wasn't ousted before having a chance too!
