Marcus Rashford to Barcelona?! Hansi Flick ‘demands’ transfer swoop for Man Utd winger after failed Nico Williams pursuit. Hansi Flick has reportedly demanded that Barcelona acquire Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford after his attempt to secure Nico Williams fell through. Since assuming control of Barcelona, Flick has emphasized his desire for a left winger in his lineup who is adept at scoring and dribbling. Consequently, the Catalan giants targeted Williams from Athletic Club earlier this summer and intensified their efforts following the winger’s standout performance in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory. However, it now appears that Athletic Club is reluctant to allow their star winger to depart this summer. With Williams seemingly out of reach, the Blaugrana have considered other options, including out-of-favor Bayern Munich and France forward Kingsley Coman. Another unexpected name on their list is Manchester United’s Rashford. Flick has reportedly insisted that the club pursue the English winger. The Catalan club has yet to make a formal bid for the Three Lions star, and it remains to be seen if they will move forward before the summer transfer window closes. Rashford will next appear for Erik ten Hag’s United side on Saturday as they face Brighton in the Premier League.
Man Utd not abandoning Jarrad Branthwaite transfer despite £50 million bid being rejected. Manchester United reportedly continue to pursue Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite despite their enhanced offer being turned down. Even though their recent £50 million bid was rejected by Everton, the Red Devils have ‘not given up’ on acquiring Branthwaite. However, there is a sense among club officials that they might not finalize the transfer before the summer window closes. United appear well-equipped in the centre-back position after signing Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt. Nevertheless, they remain resolute in their intention to sign the young English central defender Branthwaite, whether in this window or next summer if the player remains with the Toffees until then.
