Amadou Onana talks about his viral interview whilst with the Belgium national team at the 2024 Euro tournament. A Journalist mistakenly calls Amadou Andre which prompts him to switch from speaking French to immediately addressing the journalist in English with “Andres not even my name mate, do you know what I mean?” #shorts #football #soccer #funny #euro2024 #belgium #england #algorithm #interview #sports

Andre Onana.
That’s French at the start, not Dutch
Your name is what ever the people call you most footballers aint called by their name😂
I always wonder where he gets that accent from considering he’s never lived in England until now
Completely justified response. Reporter obviously confused his first name with the Man United Onana. But like Amadou said, it's happened multiple times so it probably got annoying
Never seen a smoother transition from a French accent to an English one😂
He will reach Rodri level very soon on aston villa trust me
BBC fluent is London
This is the thing with many western journalist. They pretend to care, but they don't. At least in Asia, Asian journalist depends on researchers, and if researchers give the wrong info, they say the wrong thing and they apologise. But not the western journalists.
Black players need to stop making these things seem lighthearted, because they will continue. Even on commentary, constantly getting black players confused with one another as if they all look the same. It’s their job to research the players beforehand.
The French to English translation 🤌🏿
His sounds proper English especially when he said, ‘Andre isn’t my name mate’.
Fair play.
