  1. Very similar profile to Casemiro currently(long passes, tackling, dodgy under pressure), except he has more legs. We saw when Casemiro had legs top 4 was not a problem.

  2. I was never too keen on this signing due to the reasons James mentioned. Hopefully he’ll change my mind, otherwise I hope it’s only a loan signing.

  3. At the end of the day, it's all about passing patterns at the back. Ten hag has coached Edson Alvarez and now Casemiro, 6s with poor technical abilities and he has made it work. From what I learned has well from watching United, Ten hag is not really that interested at playing at the back as people seem to think. He wants quick passes straight to the mid 3rd/forwards, hence chaos. I think Ugarte thrives in those scenarios.

  4. Negativity !!!! I'm sure anybody could find clips of every football player making mistakes !!! No player is perfect. Ugarte is exactly what United need.

  5. As a United fan, I don’t know how Ashworth thinks this will be a good signing. It makes sense if he was 20 or 30 million but 50 million for a player that flopped in an easier league with obvious deficiencies and a massive risk of flopping bc of the nature of the prem doesn’t make sense at all.

  6. If you analysis the situations you have looked at he is clearly being tucked up by his teammates… there positioning is all over the place… we know he isn't an elite passer… he's a ball winner… then needs a player to show for him… and nobody is… teammates failing him not the other way around…

  7. I would have gone for Sander Berge (20M) plus Amrabat (10M) to add 2 CDMs instead of Ugarte.
He is good but we need De Yong type number 6 to not only be defensive in the Midfield but also press resistance and carries the ball forward.

  8. Don't think the press resistant issues are as big as your making out, he was considered a very press resistant player at sporting (under amorin in a double pivot) and has a very high pass completion rate. He'll keep the all circulating, dont think thats an issue.

The issues come from his OOP inconcistency, weak upper body, no use of a stiff arm, and tackles like hes declan rice without the flexibility. high variance player, needs to improve that.

  9. Due to Mainoo's lack of pitch coverage for now, I reckon Mainoo will be our first phase player and also our sitter in a high press. Also, due to Mainoo's press resistant and pass vision, I suspect he would develop into a Regista or DLP with two attcking 8s infront of him. Ac Milanesque with Pirlo(Mainoo), Gattusso(Ugarte), Seedhorf(Bruno), Kaka(Zirkzee). Chelsea did same with Kovacic(Mainoo), Kante(Ugarte), Mount(Bruno)

  10. All fair points. I think he suits United better than any other team which is good for us, i do foresee some frustrations but in general i think he'll be a great signing

  11. i think mats weiffer/onana would've been perfect for us but i like ugarte as a loan signing and hopefully we go all in for wharton next summer + another physical 6

  12. Ugarte is a disaster in the making, far too reckless and the prem will expose him even more. I hope I’m proven wrong but I don’t like the cut of his jib, where jib means reckless abandon.

  13. Chelsea were close to signing him before he went to PSG. I thought he looked a good player but most of the PSG accounts have left the impression that we dodged a bullet. I would be concerned about his press-proof[ness] under the pressure of playing in that UTD side

  14. Considering you’re a Statshead sponsor, it was dissapointing not to see you utilise the site for him.

Ugarte is the ONLY midfielder in the world to match Casemiro for over 4 dribblers challenged and 2 tackles per 90.

This means he’s already adept with the physical challenge of an EtH midfielder in being isolated and facing waves of attackers coming his way.

Ugarte also is the number one u25 lateral passer in the world.

Good video, but more stats would’ve been better!

  15. Damn this honest review hit hard man ugarte suddenly look like fred

P.S. dont just look at player through goals tackles skills assist compilation only 🤣 better dont get scam 🤣🤣
