  1. @freeBITCH0 The code has changed a lot, the average score is a lot lower now because there are bigger execution deductions. So Maroney's 16 is really a lot better than Shawn's 16 which wouldn't be a 16 today.

  2. I agree with you, but the thing is that the regulations and the scoring have changed a bit. That's why back in '08 or '07 there were lots of 16.000 and even 17.000. Nowadays you rarely see that, the only 16s you see now are from a couple of gymnasts like Mckayla Maroney. If she does that same vault today, with some luck she can score around a 14.5. Oh and BTW it's Maroney* lol

  3. is this an amanar? did the COP modify difficulty levels or something, because girls like Wieber etc do the vault exactly the same way and get a 15 something…

  4. Do you Maroney? Every years the COP changes so it gets more and more difficult to get those big scores. In my opinion part of the reason why the amanar was downgraded from a 6.5 to a 6.3 in this new quad is because Maroney was almost too good. Shawn was able to also score like this because the rules were different but also because fewer gymnasts were performing this vault. The more the gymnasts performed this vault the better the judges got at finding deductions in my opinion.

  5. even though shawn could never stick this landing, she’ll always be one of my favorite vaulters just because of her amazing form!!
