The gentleman talking here doesn't know that Argentina won 2 back to back Copa America (1991 and 1993) and a Confederation cup (1992) without a "Special" player. Note that Maradona did not play in the above-mentioned tournaments. Yes, life became difficult for them after that 1994 WC disaster. On a positive note, they did reach numerous major international finals till 2021 Copa win and also won 2 Olympic gold medals and several under-20 world cups during that senior trophy less period from 1994 to 2021.
I got same kinda injury from falling off a stairs same thing 3 months later I still feel the pain at times but Messi injury looks worse then mine he swelled up way more then me so he will be out for like 5 months this is a slow recovery injury sucks I hate this for him he will be ready for World Cup 2026
Argentina suffered after Maradona's retirement not because of him, but AFA was undergoing a managerial crisis. One that is actually quite similar to the one that is happening to Brazil with CBF. Argentina had amazing players in the 90s and 00s like Batistuta, Tevez, and well, RIQUELME. All of those could have won some titles in that time, but AFA was a disaster between 92-2010ish.

Well the MLS regular league is ridiculous and makes no sense to rush him to play games that don't matter , when it comes to the playoffs , he will be ready then when it matters the most and he's 37 and played +1000 games that body is tired and needs as much rest as possible and he's taking advantage of the circumstances there , he could never do that in Europe .

So according to their calculations: July 15th to August 20th is 2 months. LoL. Messi is fine. Scaloni didn't picked him because Argentina is already in a good position in the qualifiers and he don't want to put pressure on Messi's ankle just for this little reason. He's enjoying a boat ride now and there's no evidence of any stress. He's laughing and having fun. Doctor said the injury can take 6 weeks to 8 weeks.
