I love Martinelli but I think he should not be a starter going forward, I see him having a rodrygo type of role where he still plays significant minutes but hes not necessarily a starter every game

Judge Martinelli once we get Calafori in the left as well as Merino, with either him or rice on that side or havertz, but calafori doing what Ben white does as well as , cause they overlap in the midfield on that side and watch martinelli and trossard improve, cause then we wonāt be as predictable going to the right attack leaning side when teams have to protect attacks and defend overlapping from your lb and Lw and even involving the striker depending, itāll allow for more fluid movements and wing Rotation. Saka is world class and killing it but heās in also a better position in terms of more fluidity and freedom on his side with odegard, Ben white and him all over lapping, itās better than what martinelli has on the other side with zinchenko who turns it over a lot, or tomiyasu or kiwior and havertz(didnāt include timber his only played like less than 2 games basically) , it doesnāt compare and has much less fluidity. Once we confirm that Merino signing and getting Calafori getting adjusted and flowing into his position and the whole arsenal team but martinelli and trossard will make huge leaps and much more chances, cause teams canāt also put all those double teams on Saka and odegaard and more freedom for whole team
Bukayo world class yet?
We have 2 decent left sided strikers. If martinelli is having a bad game, Trossard comes in. The left side is okay. What we need is a solid 9. I can't imagine going to a CL final with Havertz as our 9. He's very useful but not clinical. In a crucial game hes likely to cost us.
Disagree on your take about Martinelli. Kid is an inside forward being given the task of winger and the amount of double teams he has to deal with makes him shining difficult. Few seasons back, teams had both Saka and Martinelli figured out by double teaming them. Saka has Odegaard to help alleviate or break through that pressure. Martinelli doesn't, he was better off when Xhaka was in that pocket (his 17 goals season is from that time i believe). He also isn't a touchline winger (something Saka has managed to excel in so is often compared to him) so his game lacks when further out wide. Ultimately, Martinelli is a casualty of team evolution and teams response to his game. Injuries haven't also helped. He is a bit out in the wilderness for his own evolution because of this (something you see with his shooting/finishing being ao inconsistent) but isn't out of step with Arsenal to warrant relegation in his place in the team just yet.

As an Arsenal fan who loves Martinelli and his 22/23 form, if he doesnāt perform this season we have to milk out as much money as we can from his 70-80M value. That Rafa Leao demand is dipping because of his āpoorā season last year so the window is there.
