It’s a penalty, him being planted and making himself bigger isn’t the excuse, but the exact reason why it is one! According to the rules he’s taken away the opportunity for julian to finish the shot after he tapped the ball past the keeper, which if not tackled, he still potentially could’ve made an attempt for to tap in, but bc the keeper blocks and prevents him from going around, like julian could’ve done if the keeper had been on the ground like they normally do, he’s taken away the opportunity.
Frank has no valid point in either cases!

Just by looking the fact that Alvarez if it had the supersonic engine hi couldn't made anything from that tach of the ball right there it's enough information to rule off the penalty. Both went to get the ball the keeper actually was trying to be carful not to cause a PK and stop with both feet in ground . Alvarez intentionally went to collide with keeper.
If you are going to call the penalty on the first one and give the goalie a yellow card then on the second one where he ran into the goalie the goal should be disallowed…….There was two collisions with the goalie and both should of been called…….
Frank, you're wrong because you're omitting an important factor. The keeper opens his right leg and right arm (you can see it in all the photos posted here), as Alvarez tries to charge through to his left and get's tripped. Furthermore, the keeper never plays the ball. That's a penalty, clear as daylight.
My main critism of watching the game was that I basically didn't even notice Modric, supposed to be a ballon d'or world class player and he just collapsed because some thing didn't go his way

Yet these elite yeller aren't talking about hand ball in penalty area and a foul at the edge of the box on Messi. Handball replay was shown couple of times, but the foul on Messi on edge of box wasn't. I watched the recorded match in slow motion and Croatia defender took 2 steps back to obstruct Messi making attacking run. A foul is a foul whether there is ball involved or not. Ever wondered what would happen if a player (hypothetically) slaps opponent in outside the box or inside the box ?

Croatia was robbed of the corner kick moments before the penalty goal. Also I love how Messi dove in the box in the first 10 mins of the game tryna get a penalty shot. Only reason Messi got an assist is because Gvardiol was going soft on Messi because Messi woulda drove in the box for a penalty. Messi is a sore loser when Croatia beat Argentina 3 nothing in 2018 he had a hissy fit and didn’t shake any of the players hands before he left the pitch I’d put money on Messi having 2 penalty shots in the final.
If that challenge by the goalkeeper, is by an outfield player in the middle of the park, it's a freekick all day long, all day long, is mostly modric & Croatia fans who r saying it's not a penalty

That totally did kill them but that’s your problem. Your team should’ve lost to Belgium if not for terrible Lukaku. Everything else was bonus for Croatia. They shouldn’t have gone this far. Injustice in semi final-well it was unjust that you guys went that far. And if your team disintegrated and lost their spirit after that-only yourselves to blame.

When Alvarez hit the ball beyond the goal keeper, he had the chance to still hit the ball for goal. The ball was not hit outside of play, but just played away from the goalie inorder to still score, but the keeper ends up stopping him
It should have been a collision foul for Julian Alvarez if the reff wanted to reff correctly but whatever lol

The problem wasn't the tackle, it was the fact that he didn't touch the ball, AND stuck his leg out. Was it a bit floppy? Yes. But the goal keeper never touched the ball. Easy foul call.

If there's one thing that's clear this tournament, it's that Messi gets to do everything! Argentina 🇦🇷 automatically gets everything because Messi has to win this tournament from FIFA! If even a clear handball against the Netherlands 🇳🇱 is not penalized then this fits in that list!!!
