This is how, while minding my own business in Cameron Indoor Stadium, I got caught on the wrong side of Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski yelling at the the Cameron Crazies and almost got memed. Turns out, Coach K misconstrued the chant the students were saying that was directed toward Jeff Capel, a former Blue Devil player and assistant coach. Duke beat the Capel-led Pitt Panthers 79-67 on Tuesday.

Thank you for breaking this down. I was pretty sure what all happened but just wanted a clearer understanding.. and I really enjoy your coverage of Duke and other ACC teams ( but mostly Duke) is there anywhere else I can watch the full player interviews? I really like your questions you get them to answer.. keep up the good work.
I watched the game and was initially concerned that Coach K had lost control of himself. But after watching the full post game press conference, and a few days of reflection, I believe that coaching against Jeff Capel, who Coach K referred to as "his son" in the post game press conference, for the first time in Cameron, coupled with the game scheduled so soon after the tragic death of his former Olympic team captain and close friend Kobe and Gigi, caused an emotional tsunami in our G.O.A.T coach. So he's human and apologized. Let's Go Duke !
Hope your channel grows more man.
It's just how Coach K is, he does not like anyone being disrespected and that's what he initially thought was happening, he does have that fire in the belly especially during games…he did apologize once he realized it was a misunderstanding. But, I love the student body and their faces, there some fear in those eyes, but they also had a look of reverence and knew that Coach K was serious about something and they were paying attention……that's what the "Crazies" have always admired about him……he's a Senior Citizen, he probably has some hearing loss and heard something completely different,,,,I fully understand that…age 60 and loss in one ear…..but, he can make a mistake or two, he will always be loved by Duke! It's a story for those kids to tell their grandkids for sure!
Those students looked like they were about to cry.
Looking back at this now, I believe this was one of the signs that showed that it was getting time for him to retire. It was really just a simple misunderstanding. Also, he was emotional about Kobe Bryant passing away.
