AMERICAN diver Alison Gibson was awarded a score of 0.0 after her feet hit the board during her routine at the Olympic Games.
A mishap on the 3-meter springboard at the 2024 Paris Olympics has dropped Team USA diver Alison Gibson into an unfortunate tie with Animal House’s John Blutarsky.
Gibson scored a 0.0 during Wednesday’s competition, matching the John Belushi character’s infamous grade-point average in the 1978 comedy.
The 25-year-old native Texan was in proper tuck position on Tuesday when her feet rotated into the board, causing her to flail down to the water’s surface.
Gibson was attempting to pull off an inward dive with 2.5 somersaults. Afterwards, she left the pool area in obvious frustration as she held her hands to her face.
Fortunately for Gibson, she did not suffer any injury and was able to continue competing. After four dives on Wednesday she ranked 27th out of 28 competitors.

She ended up finishing last out of the 28 participants with a score of 198.30.
But her fate was all but sealed on the very first of her five dives when she failed to score any points after colliding with the board.
Texas-born Gibson, 25, bounced off the board and proceeded to perform the inward 2½ somersaults in the pike position.
However, as her initial bounce did not propel her far enough, her feet ended up striking the board on the way down.

  1. Giving her straight zeros was unfair. I would have just given her a low score for the effort and being able to resurface from a high diving board.

  2. So sick of these scrub accounts making videos where they just show pictures and flood youtube with these useless videos and make it impossible to find the video youre looking for.

  3. Imagine all the time and money wasted on her to perform a worse dive than the worst amateur you could imagine. They could have sent a 200lb middleschooler that would have done better than her. Hopefully, they immediately booked her a ticket back to the US after this so she could have her head in shame after such a monumental embarrassment. She better never even look at a swimming pool for the remainder of her life.
