There is a big story in Japan around Takefusa Kubo signing for Liverpool FC in this transfer window to be Arne Slot’s first major signing of the summer for 60 million euros from Real Sociedad.
Sponichi and Sakanowa official Japan media sites are both reporting that Liverpool are advanced in negotiations and they were the first to break the news of Wataru Endo moving to Liverpool.

Great video. Often, people think the Salah 'replacement' needs to score as many goals as Salah. But he doesn't. Salah needed to score so many because Firmino's main job was not so much to score but to orchestrate/create. The set-up has now changed. Now it is Nunez's job is to score. So that means the player on the right flank coming inside doesn't need to score so much. Kubo's job, and Sarah's job right now, is more to create and cause chaos by stretching defenses and making holes in them. I think Kubo would be a good addition to the squad but he'd have to work hard to be a regular starter and would probably initially back-up Salah. p.s. love that leathery LFC jacket.

Feels like if Liverpool do go this way, we’ve got almost too many attackers. Endo and the centre backs the only ones. Of Salah goes central, Macca, Elliott, Szobo, even Gravenberch and Jones all forward thinking players. Fullbacks too.

Kubo is not good enough, compare him to Bryan Mbeumo- he light years behind a proven premier league player already who would only cost £30 million.. Kubo is not worth £10 million, you can not amortize a transfer more than 5 years- Endo is first class, but proved himself to get to Liverpool , other Japanese players have failed and been sold, no more silly signings
Elliottt is 10x better than Kubo an cost £5 million, Kubo would nlot get a job cleaning Mo Salah boots

Alot of people have been saying they dont understand this signing but one thing that might help us understand FSGs decision making here is the fact that Kubo has some of the highest On ball Value (metric for measuring how good his actions are at creating xg and preventing xgA) amongst wingers in La Liga last season. Thats the same La Liga that has Vini Junior, Dembele, Yamal and Williams
