Everton have faced a setback in their efforts to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City as Aston Villa have submitted a loan offer for the midfielder. Phillips was seen as a replacement for Amadou Onana, but Villa’s offer of Champions League football and better finances could sway him.
