This window seems complicated. If Newcastle were open to losing Bruno G, they would want clarity as early as possible to find a replacement at an acceptable price. Since Ciry won’t move on him until bricks A, B, or C topple, the chances of landing him appear dim.

This notion of selling to buy is simply nonsense. Seems like something the media (all mediums) have been fed to spread. Last season’s team was the smallest Pep has ever had while at City and now there’s no room unless someone leaves?
The only way that could possibly be true is IF Cancelo and Philips are part of the team and don’t get loaned out and even then, I’d like to see the numbers. Also, the Centurions were the largest squad Pep has managed. So how is it we had more players then than we do now but now we can’t afford them? Doesn’t add ip
Kimmich or Guimaraes are obvious solutions. Have no idea how realistic it would be to sign either. Guimaraes appears to be expensive and Kimmich has lots of suitors and staying put at Bayern for one more year has to also be attractive for Kimmich (but not Bayern). But unlike the original plan for Philips — starting as a 6 when: Rodri was unavailable, to rest Rodri for cup games, weak opponents; 2nd half substitute to play with Rodri as double pivot to see out the game; — both Kimmich and Guimaraes would want to still start in the big games when Rodri plays for them to come to City. I think Kimmich is an upgrade to Walker or Akanji, but would Walker need to first leave? Bruno starting as an 8 means Foden and DeBrunye couldn't both play centrally, so do you play Foden on the left wing (not his best position vice Grealish and Doku) and play Bernardo (or Savio) on the right ?
I hope things work out for Kalvin, really lovely lad but clearly his confidence has been shot. I dont necessary blame Pep for some of criticism because theres level of expectation all top teams have to stay at the top. My concern is I dont think he can handle the intensity of the Premier League anymore. A move to Saudi or US makes sense for him. As for City, I wouldnt panic just yet. Need clarity on situation of Nunes. Could do with another season if you got a good offer for him, I would sell.
Much as we wld like to keep key experienced players like Ederson, Debryn, Silver etc its inevitably that, having won everything there is to win, they will leave sooner than we wish at some point. For now its largely contract and price conditions that are prohitive to the likes of Ederson and Silver to leave. City 8s a big and wealthy enuf club to afford and survive evolution. Its always gud to leave on a high note b4 a slump.

So equally City can draw talent from academy graduates who have already tasted 1st team game time like 9sca Bobb, Lewis et al. No need for force expenditure especially when no big names are leaving
