GB team just doesn't work because of the UKs unique position. If your the host then you have no chance of getting a team bonded into a unit and if they had to qualify you would not be able to get the best players as they would be playing for their national sides. Saw it in 2012 you end up with a mish mash of either decent past it players and the rest b listers who dont really stand a chance of getting caps in the national side. Other countries can use it to blood young players and give them experience with older pros.

We all could of had a great team, it’s a shame GB couldn’t come together, the non picking of David Beckham was a horrific decision, he was playing well enough at the time and the youngsters would of looked up to him, it would of benefited the team massively, Pearce’s squad was shocking, I don’t no how he can say he dropped Beckham for football reasons with that terrible final squad he picked, Pearce didn’t want Beckham out shinning him, he doesn’t like him, his reasons don’t make sense, Beckham should of walked into that squad, that squad was so bad like the manager we had, I felt for Beckham he didn’t deserve that, he was better than most of the midfielders Pearce picked at the time, that GB team was an absolute embarrassment, players, manager alike.
