Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier, Miguel Almiron and Sean Longstaff have all been reported to be linked with moves away from the club. Is it time to cash in on them all if possible?

  1. I can see three of them going with the retention of Longstaff as a local squad player, I think if we sold Sean we would need someone come in to cover for injuries anyway so id keep him as even he may not set the world alight he can still do a decent job when others legs need resting.

  2. We seem to try and keep players because they are 'great lads'. Ritchie and Dummet come to mind, they both should have gone a couple of years ago. Almiron falls into the same category, lovely bloke, massively frustrating footballer.

  3. Only player of those list here that I'd be persuaded to keep is Longstaff – purely because he's a proper local lad. A rarity in a black & white shirt

  4. Slight problem with one year in Saudi, i was under the understanding that you had to do 2 years otherwise you are liable for tax. Henderson had to pay a fortune when he bottled Saudi.

  5. We can see parting with the 4 that gave their passion and scored many important goals but they are marketable sellable to balance the ffp psr future rules . We still have Isaac Hayden a great person and ryan frazier a confused aging talent to pay. Dubs a fading keeper..to move on a jam lewis that never reached potential in our new style. A bit of chaos to move on from so many but to improve the talentts got to match top 5 prem levels not SPL EPL levels

  6. We need to sell Target and maybe more to clear out old regimes bargain bin long contracts. if we could take a tax as business loss deduction but no have to see the price paid and take a lumping. On frees if not sold soon.

  7. Miggy be a useful squad player. Bring him on 70mins against a tired fullback, but we can't have him as starting right side if we want to progress.

Wilson so frustrating. Very similar, if not better, output than Watkins, but Watkins stays fit. Wilson manages to miss half the season, every season. But be a decent squad player if nobody comes in.

It's all well and good club wanting to move players on, but if nobody wants them, they won't be going anywhere.

  8. The issue we have is when we suddenly need a late goal in the last 15 mins we don't really have impact subs. Football increasingly needs 'finishers' so Liverpool can bring on Nunez, Jota, Dias as subs. We don't have the money to buy a good RW and a good striker. So we probably have to keep Wilson cos we will be lucky to sell him due to age/injury/contract length. How many goals will we have on our bench this season?

  9. Sad to see them go? I would help everyone of them pack their bags! I'm also sick of sentimental fans. These players are being paid fortunes. In Wilson's case for being a professional sicknote. Miggy no right foot and too lazy to learn English both he and Longstaff are just not good enough. Trippier started well but has cost us dearly. Professionalism should also apply to player's personal lifes in not giving the club negative headlines.

  10. Miggy can go for free, he just needs to be gone & sadly calumn's injuries make him too much of a liability. However if we can't get our money back on trips & at least the same for sean i'd rather keep them as squad players. No way i can see us getting the likes of chiesa or gallagher in though. I think you're dreaming there chris. We're shopping in the bargin basement this summer i reckon.

  11. In defence of old Miggy, he wasn't signed as a right winger. He was more of an attacking midfielder. Saying that, his time has come and gone.
Also, I have a theory about Harvey Barnes. I'd play him in the middle like Keegan did with Rob Lee.

  12. Tripps hasn’t been the same since his personal problems (sleeping around again) came about. He has a history of doing it and running away. Unpopular opinion I know..
