Whaaa! It's not ethical. Whaaa! I'm a purist, whaaaaaaaa!
Aaron, the term 'long range' is why most people argue, to you and I the definition of long range is very different than others. The difference is our equipment and our dedication to practice and being ethical. Here in NM, it's not like hunting the swamps of Wisconsin. So I take the time, to do it right so I know that when I pull the trigger, that bullet is going to hit where I aimed.
Please don’t shout me down on my comments, I am just voicing my personal opinion. I’ve seen some long shots on John X that have not landed properly and they have had to follow it up. Whilst I believe the equipment is capable I don’t believe that 70% of the hunters are equipped for shots over 350m. If a person can shoot 5 groups of 3 shots at 2MOA at 750m then I’d say the hunter is competent. We in SA still shoot max 350-400m and the average is 150-250m.
