This argument that I keep hearing from cr7 fans that Ronaldo is a complete player coz he can score headers,right foot,left foot is the most dumbest excuse I have ever had.Who cares whether u score with a header,your backside,your nose or ears,who cares???A goal is a goal.Even if messi scores a million goals with his left foot,no one will be concerned how many right footed goals he has scored coz goals are goals.Being complete is when you have a playmaker with the highest goalscoring contributions in history of over 1100 goals,a player with immense vision,passing,dribbling ability,intelligence on an off the ball,an incredible goal scorer,assister and creator.Thats what messi is n definition of a real complete footballer.The other guy is nothing but only a goalscorer n when he doesn't score he becomes irrelevant coz there is nothing much that he offers other than simple goals.Meanwhile messi does so much more other than scoring goals hence the reason why he's not only the most complete player but definitely the far much better player of the two.Its just plain facts.

I watched them both for around 10 years in their prime. There is definetly a debate considering how much they won (both individually and as a team). You have to remember Ronaldo had an uphill battle when he arrived at Madrid. He had to take down possibly the greatest team ever. So when he did people put him in the GOAT discussion. Messi's recent achivement with Argentina shows he is successful outside the Barcelona system. Personally i would give it to Messi but people thinking Ronaldo isn't in the discussion are clearly bias or didn't watch them on a WEEKLY basis (even though they claim otherwise).

My biggest criticism of Messi was whether he can do it outside of Barcelona's system. The greats deliver when being apart of inferior teams (Maradona, 1986). So if Messi wins on Sunday then he could end the debate once and for all.
Football is fickle. Only last season people were saying Ronaldo was better than Messi due to Messi's poor PSG output and Ronaldo's crucial goals for United. It's a season-by-season debate, but tell you what Messi winning the World Cup looks damn good on his resume
What you have to keep in mind in this debate is that Ronaldo is 2 years older than Messi. You can take that either way.. that either means give Ronaldo a break as when Messi is 37 he'll be further on the decline, or that Messi is even greater for being 2 years junior with his stats
