  1. The primary reason Celtic goalkeepers get criticised for their inability to save penalties, is because all of our rivals seem to have less problems doing so vs us.
If we were converting our penalties to an acceptable rate, we wouldn’t care about it.

  2. –> 6:07 That's a great insight that we should all take to heart.
–> Based on watching them, it seems to me that KS exudes confidence more than Hart did. Joe is confident, but quietly confident. Given that the anchor of the backline, CCV, seems to be a more quietly confident type, I'd say having a more charismatic leader in the back is a good thing.
–> Please keep doing these key stats.

  3. when we got Joe, he wasn't even the third choice keeper at Spurs, when we got Kasper he was captain for Denmark at the Euro's ,nuff said, Hail Hail

  4. Really detailed video Paul, and good to see, but if Kasper can come in and have the same or a similar affect as Hart then he'll be a great addition to the back line 🙌🍀

  5. Great video. I think Kasper’s top traits will be experience and leadership but watching the Euros, he definitely looks an upgrade. The short pass stat is kinda useless for goalies and defenders, should be a stat for times theyre involved beating the press. Hail Hail 🍀

  6. i have to quibble about this analysis,

to me the most relevant measure of goal keeper shot stopping , is post shot xg save percentage for shots on target , that is for all shots on target and accounting for degree of difficulty, what was the save percentage,

here the career picture is murky re schmeichel v hart . schmeichel is at .27 which puts him in the bottom quarter of global averages for this metric for keepers, and hart is at .31 which puts him in the top 25% of keeper global averages ,

this roughly translates into a 3 goal advantage to hart in a season, and if its a tight league race that could make a difference in terms of points dropped ,

these are all fine margins , but they could count

the other issue with schmeichel is his height. joe hart and celtic have had their issues with controlling what goes on aerially in the 6 yard box , and he is 6,5 , schmeichel is 6,2 , so not much taller than bain, so life could get very interesting for celtic in the 6 yard box especially with set pieces this season.

what schmeichel does bring to the table is loads of experience , and celtic need that in spades,

i think the jury is out on whether schmeichel is an upgrade on hart, but im betting he wont be

  7. Even tho Hart is taller I think you will see Kasper is much more aggressive at coming for crosses and that was a huge weakness for Hart especially during his time at Celtic.

  8. Hart was either worst or second worst of 32 champions league goalies both years by post shot xg diff. It isnt a big task to upgrade on that
