Croatia got through to the semi finals without a striker. The defence and midfield carried them there. This will be the last time Croatia will be as competitive at a world cup because now it will be a team in transition. They will lose Modric, Perisic, Brozovic, Lovren, Kramaric and Vida. They have some youngsters coming up – but no where near the quality of what will be going out. I just find it terribly sad that Modric will never have a World Cup Gold medal – because he has been a powerhouse for the nation.
The only mistake Modric made was being nice to the dirty Argentina team. Don't remember in the last world cup that ugly hobit Messi showed respect for the Croatia team, Croatia was terrible today. France or Morocco will beat an average Argentina team. Ugly hobit Messi will not win world cup.
That was an undeserved Balon D’or he wasn’t even the best player at Madrid it was Ronaldo. But strangely enough Ronaldo goes to Juve and some how he doesn’t win it when everyone knew he deserved it. Not only that Mbappe had 4 goals in the World Cup as a teen and beat Modric. In the final. And not only that Iniesta didn’t disappear in a World Cup final. And don’t compare the Madrid trio to the Barcelona trio. Barca trio won it all club and country.

Massively disappointing how little respect Modric gets. He's one of the best midfielders in history, especially considering the level he's playing at at 37 years old. Yet he goes over to every team he plays against to show respect, even with Argentina after losing today he walked over to congratulate them. Yet only 2 or 3 Argentine players are seen showing him any respect after the game. Thousands of comments online of "Its so sad if messi doesn't get his world cup since this is his last one", meanwhile modric is older and gets no acknowledgement at all
Modric will always be an example to the youth. He came from a poor household and nobody believed in him because he was small. He became one of the best midfielders in the world and proved everyone wrong. Modric will go down in history as one of the best. He is a legend in club and country football and will always be remembered. As a Real Madrid fan I will always have Modrics back and can’t wait to have you back fighting for the champions and La liga

If there's one team that deserves anything in this World Cup, it's Croatia and their fair play. They lost but my respect rose for these players. Possibly, that's why they have come so far in the competition, their integrity and willingness to play a clean game despite not boarding many talents. Nothing but respect to Croatians.
Respect to Modric for his talent and longevity but overall this Croatia team was poor. All they did in the knockout round was play for penalty shootout. In the 6 games they have played so far at the tournament, they have only beaten 1 team during regulation or extra time and that was Canada 4-1. They survived the group stage only because a haphazard striker name Lukaku missed 4 open chances a 6 year old would have converted.
Stop with the first "male" desigantion. WOmen's soccer hasn't really been a thing until twenty years ago. It's its own thing. Ridiculous capitulation to political correctness. stop it. Women's soccer is great, fine, except for these virtue signally tendencies. Keep it out of futbol.

I think Croatia just lacked good attackers. Midfielders were great but the attackers kept losing the ball and left the defense exposed
