With the news that Callum Wilson is out again, this time needing an operation on his back. Is it time to cut ties and go for a new striker? In the last few days Newcastle have been linked with Lille’s Jonathan David again. Is he the man to take Wilson’s place?

  1. Groundhog day with wilson get rid.. This squad is aging… Injuries becoming more frequent… Mitchell needs to get bids in now… Season starts in 4 weeks… Leaving it late as usual… Upgrades in all positions needed…

  2. Great show Chris! This is why we need Paul Mitchell and James Bunce, Howes inability to let player go and his unwillingness to rotate in order to minimize injuries. Theese plus in game management are Howes weaknesses. Jonathan David got me licking my lips, Wilsons career is over, he can't outrun me anymore.

  3. Wilson injured without even touching a football well, fuck me. Eddie wants to keep him does he?, why?. Surely this is enough to say, get him gone ASAP, it's things like this that really annoys me about Howe, his favourites. I'll book you a Taxi for the FA HQ if you like, go and play your Fave Players game with England.

  4. As things stand right now nobody would want to pay a thing for wilson, he is worthless due to his injury record. People who say get rid are not thinking about his value and why anyone would want a broken player.

Why would any striker that is doing well want to throw away first team football to sit on the bench because isak is our first choice striker. They would need to be brain dead to want to bring a halt to their career. Sometimes I think I've slipped into the twilight zone.

  5. Totally agree Wilson is no longer reliable with injuries we need another striker. Also I saw on news that IF IF Eddie decides to take the England job The Toon would replace him with Pochettino. But I’m really hoping Eddie stays

  6. We need to bring in a striker ASAP because I am sick and tired of Callum Wilson!
Eddie Howe is asking for the love which is very hard when he is advocating on Wilson's behalf only for him to have the brass neck to tell us he misses the start of the season again!
Howe is taking the pee out of us with this latest shite!

  7. Love wilson but he needs to be 3rd striker at most maybe let other two rest play cup games when fit etc .get this lad as a number two no brainer in my opinion.

  8. Its a week to August and we still need a CB, RW and CF.

Man United are putting other clubs to shame getting business done early, allowing players a full pre season. We need to pull thumb.

6 players out, Kelly, wilson, Miley and willock all down and Tonali missing for a month.

Im also having doubts that Almiron is going and we screwed ourselves giving him an extension.

Im very concerned that we appear to be in a holding pattern

  9. What I can’t understand is why do Newcastle leave it so late to do business .
Love Eddie and love what he has done at the toon but this is not Bournemouth and shouldn’t be run as such the PIF want to run the club as a big elite club

  10. The problem is we need at least 7 players over the next 3 windows to replace players who will be out of contract and aging for mutiple positions.
We still have a limit budget and we have already spent probably £35M on Lewis Hall Kellys signing on fee Vlachodimos and agent fees. We know we bid £51M for olise so we have at least that to spend plus probably £20M from GK bids.
From what Paul Mitchell said they are looking to do incremental changes and too many changes impact the team performance (e.g Chelsea) so I would expect only 2 may be three more signings at most. Also given the budget limitations he did say they have to get each signing right as they cannot afford a flop which makes sense.
David would make sense but there are question marks as to why he has not been picked up so far and performances in big games. But if he can turn it on against lesser opponents thats what we need in games against teams like Luton last season so could actually be a good buy for the money.

  11. At this stage, we seriously just need to plan ahead as though Wilson doesn't exist, then just use the 6 games a season he's available for as an unexpected bonus

  12. Really like your channel Chris, saying it how it is. Keep up the good work, I'm subscribed. Just one thing, any chance you shorten the intro/music, it goes on a bit?!

  13. Ffs, with Callum Wilson, you really couldn't make this up. Yes, he scores goals, but he's never fit ! Keep him as a third choice, & get another striker in yesterday. I'm actually worried about the lack of transfer activity, if I'm being brutally honest !

  14. I can't see anyone being willing to shell out a fee for callum as he misses huge chucks of the season so i reckon he'll end up staying with us running down his contract before leaving on a free. But we have to get someone in to back up isak but my gut tells me we are in for a very disappointing window.

  15. Did you consider he's having surgery on his lower back as its linked to hamstring injuries? Seems to me this is preventative measure. Stop gas lighting man

  16. I can’t understand why Eddie wants to keep him when he’s injured during pre season I used to say he was made of glass I’m obviously wrong he’s made of fucking paper

  17. Don't think Nationality matters, I think Lee Carsley has earned a shot at it and the FA will give him the interim role and assess him at the same time. If GS was given that chance then so should Lee. He knows a lot of the players, knows how the FA works AND he's won a tournament with England U21s, so that qualifies him in my book.

  18. Eddie Howe is way too soft. He won't see off Wilson to another club. I rather see Howe takes the England job, and we have Pochetinho as a replacement.
