Trossard and Partey were 27 when we got 'em. Jorginho was 30. So it's not that out of character for Edu/Arteta to bring in one or two older more experienced players, especially at centre-mid.

The Euros was a solid statement we cannot rely on Rice as a lone 6. Not to downplay his incredible skills. I think if we allow Partey to exit with the hope to rely on Rice, it wont work out. We need more options on the left side midfield in addition to Partey. Lots of games and squared depth will pay of huge for us.
Ugarte is available and will be a perfect 6. Loan him with an option and see what happens
