How impressive was Spain in the Euro 2024 final? Is de la Fuente is interested in the USMNT job?

there was such a cohesion about the side that Lis DEA fente had chosen a bunch of players that now talking about about it uh in the Mig Zone after the game was saying I don’t think we’ve enjoyed been with a group of people as much as we enjoy here which is interesting because they all go back to the clubs but yeah there was something that was created there by L de lafuente by the Federation this idea that they had to be creatives let’s give it a go uh within an of course you can be the best version of yourselves uh you’re going to have to take a lot of decisions on the pitch but these guys are intelligent they are they got a great game management they understand what’s required and there was a lot of obstacles that it happens in every tournament and they beat every single one of them yesterday for instance Rodriguez injured and I was uh doing the BBC and talking to English commentators and of course because they relate a lot of what happen happens in the football pitch to The individuals and they realize the importance of Rodi it was like wow they changed the tune from like oh my God we’re not very good to R is out now it can happen and I was thinking but there is a structure there is a culture of the team there is a way of playing and the ones that coming from the bench make a difference or at least equal what’s been produced before and th meni comes in and the first thing he does is something he doesn’t normally do at reala drive with the ball and then JN Stone stops him yellow card so this is a context that allows the individuals to shine that to me is fantastic and I jumped then to another thing that impressed me to the end of the game Alvar Morata said very openly something that he’s been suggesting for a while if he wasn’t for boan kit and if he wasn’t for inesta I wouldn’t be in these European championships buan kage former Barcelona player and many other things AC Milan Ajax Etc Montreal and inesta of course yeah Montreal uh and inesta of course uh who’s still active and Barcelona Etc they suffered depression both of them and Alvar Morata was brave enough to say look this this is me I I am I have been struggling I am struggling and yet if it wasn’t for the calls that these guys made me and daily calls I wouldn’t be here here meaning the European championships uh he’s found on strength uh in his leadership which is sensitive leadership he cries when they win when we win he cries when we lose but we haven’t lost so I guess he does um it’s just simply somebody that has been a different type of leader one that has protected everyone you saw it when there was a problem he he’ll be running he runs enough uh to get the ball back to stop the center backs building but he run to the referee because he know that was his role protecting everyone now that has been magnificent to see that he’s actually overcoming or tried to overcome his uh his his mental health through through football and other football players so this has been much more much more than just football when niik Williams and lamin yamal have actually managed to be involved in 10 of the 15 goals either assisting or scoring but they are also the the headlines the the the the the the covers of the newspapers at a time of confusion in Spain and racism in in my in in certain parts of of football and our society and to see them so happy and to see so represent the country so happily has brought in a new generation of young people between 16 to 20 who had ignored football they didn’t like it it was boring it was all about Real Madrid and Barcelona and all of a sudden he’s like oh I like the way that Nico dances that’s that’s not Nik dancing that’s my dad dancing little shimmy all that is just what this Wing’s about plus the fact I’m sure you’ve been discussing it without I finish my speech um that we’ve done football in such a way that nobody can come to me anymore and say we have to do it like France where let’s not maximize our potential let’s defend and bu look for a moment no if you do things right you can actually attack and defend do it in a balanced way in an entertaining way in a fun way in a brave way in a courageous way it can be done in international football that’s it gam we get it you’re proud to be Spanish we get it we really get it no in all seriousness though gam credit to marata in coming out and being so brave to be honest and say what he’s going through and to be a captain and leader in such a big game I’d also give credit to Dela fente cuz for me in that game as well in the second half I love how he made that tactical change to go direct they went so Direct in the start of that second half against England which is credit to the manager and the unity he created quick one for you g if you take away lamin yamal and ni Williams who for you has had a standout display for Spain throughout this tournament that could potentially lead to a big move a big move well rodri will be the other one of course but he’s happy at Manchester City Danny Almo is clearly the one uh 60 million Euros will take him I think if there is a a big team with that kind of budget that don’t consider him is just a waste I mean you’ve seen what he can do um as he was getting much fit because he he has had injury problems at the at the end of the season in fact he had three injuries that kept in out for for a third of the season in this last one but it’s an accident he hadn’t happened before I’m sure it wouldn’t happen after you’re talking about somebody that understands the game again who plays between the lines if it’s necessary but can be the fals nine or can be white in fact that’s how it all started with the Spain with Danny almost almost one of the Wingers and L delente again has created the conditions for him to shine because he’s had him with the under 19s with the under 21s he’s been a regular in his team he made him feel important knew that he was injured don’t worry about it will call him and said don’t worry about it you’re still going to be very important and he became absolutely crucial uh with three goals so best goal scorer of the tournament with another four other players and uh and just you know the the the guy that has uh finishes as assists leads and keeps the ball in the most difficult parts of the pitch gim we’ve talked a lot about the influence of Luis delente and what a manager he is he’s 63 years old um it just came out that his representative said he’d be interested in the US Men’s National Team vacancy as the head coach I know you’ve also spoken about Rafa bonitz um it seems like if you’re I’ve spoken about shavei now who’s available it seems like if you are an American that getting a Spanish coach given all the success of the Spanish Federation with with coaches that you go for one of these guys what is is the US Men’s National Team job attractive to a a Dela fente really and and a Rafa bonitz is this something that you could see H happening I think L DEA fente has got a contractual situation with the Federation even though he renew his contract his wages are very very low it tends to happen at National level you you’re not going to become very rich at National level but I think uh he was a little bit unhappy that the Federation actually went like this would do for you and in the press conference after the game he was kind of saying maybe you all have to recognize my value now it was the first time that he spoke this way but he’s talking to the Federation so it’s in it’s interesting that his agent or anybody will come out saying and he’ll be able you know to go available for other jobs I think he just wants to reinforce his position in the Federation Rafa V is a different story and Rafa V not only will bring you um a a manager a coach even that because he is a coach first and foremost that will make the team better in my eyes but also he’s got the bigger picture in his head he has been a manager in England he’s been a different you know in China where he developed the academy as well as the first team and of of course he comes from Spain and has been at the Academy Real Madrid all that imagine if you just put all that not just in the first team in the men’s first team but also in the Federation and he’s the kind of guy that will help with that he wants to do that chabi Hernandez has got a bit of that in him as well uh if uh if he wants to do that job I’m sure he won’t just want to be the coach he’ll want to be the guy that helps develop uh football in in United States so there is there is three examples of people that have got the bigger pitch in their head but I’m telling you out of the three with chav Hernandez who I think he needs a little bit of a break and we’ll go back as a Barcelona manager in the future when he’s needed in Rafa benit you’ve got a manager that uh is at that time in his career where not only is attractive he will come with the energy to try to change matters and improve uh he he had theor at um at thta has spoken a lot to him about what it is to be National coach in the United States and uh it’ be interesting if he gets the call hm I wouldn’t be mad no I would not be mad I don’t you would not be mad at what R I wouldn’t be mad at at these options that we’re talking about because you know there are some people that say oh we need a young energetic manager oh we need a manager who’s had a proven track record internationally uh as opposed to just in the club sense for me I want a manager who knows what the hell they’re doing yeah that’s what that’s what I want just common sense right can I say Charlie can I say um who won the titles this season uh what did you say that 63 uh angelotti um gasparini uh melver all these guys are over 60 and and I think it’s time to actually revindicate age experience is important especially in football you know you know this better than anybody just the fact that if you have that experience you take better decisions yeah I’m not a big one on this whole age thing I think age really doesn’t matter it’s just the someone who comes in and commands the dressing room that you know he’s the boss he knows what he’s talking about everyone’s on side age for me does not matter it’s about just getting the right person in that dressing room preach I like it age is just a number G thank you so much for taking the time um hey continue to to bask in the glow of of this V Victory I’m very very happy for you my friend yes yes I get it your Spanish I’m going to wear it all right yeah he’s on his way

  1. Spain is about excellence and high standards. You can see it in their politics and it has an impact in their sport. They win Euro, Wimbledon, and the UCL, and their players aren't even the best.

A country like France is all about mediocrity. Same thing, you can see it in their politics, and it has an impact on their sports.
They have the best players and they refuse to play, they just stay behind waiting for counters and own goals to do the job for them.

  2. The coach was unfair to Lamal. He removed him from the field before finishing the game for no reason. He humiliated and made him less visible in the tournament.

  3. What is USMNT? Too many unnecessary letters serving little purpose. There's USA, Spain, England, Argentina national teams, etc.

  4. Spain were the best team throughout the tournament and well deserved. If England get a new tactical and "attacking" manager, then they would be an extremely exciting team with the quality squad they have.

  5. Why is every manager linked with Usa? Spain manager has a good opportunity to fight for World Cup with these players. Usa doesnt offer that opportunity.

  6. Huge respect for our captain Morata. I don’t agree with the ones criticizing him. Maybe he didn’t score that many goals but he played a key role in this team and did a magnificent job. For the ones that cannot see it, look deeper. As a Spanish fan, thank you MORATA ❤❤❤

  7. Why are all British sportscaster undercover salty…let us be happy in our win, because if it were the other way around,.we wouldn't hear the end of it. Point is, STEP UP YPUR GAME ENGLAND, VIVA ESPAÑA!!!!
