eight wins to three they already have their Euros trophies they eight wins unbeaten which is a Euros record Lou delente has G the playing beautiful football but one thing I remember against France is when they went a goal down if that happens again we will strangle out the game we will make it tough we will make it horrible so if there is another deschamps moment where they go one- nil up as kwani made it in the semi-finals I really think the mentality changes in a final so if england can stop conceding first in one of the games and it could be now I think it could really help us wow that is a big statement something has changed coming in into this tournament the we were the favorites according to the bookies going into this final we’re not I psychologically we’re expected to lose this the really interesting the reason they’re favorites though dad is their manager won the Euros with the under 19 Squad and the under 23 Squad and now is going to win it with the senior team Spain behind the scenes know how to get things right look at the winning mentality of the Spanish team historically they’ve been in five major finals and they’ve won four of them they have won this Euros three time so if they win it today they become the best country in Euro’s history can we possibly overcome that because psychologically Spain have the advantage I want to talk about England for a second dad because I think think that there’s a manager that deserves more respect Gareth Southgate has become the first England gaffer ever to take us to backto back finals in the European championships has Southgate turned a lead is Southgate outperforming your predictions Dad this is the first time in the history of England that we’ve got to a major Final on foreign soil so the first thing I do if I ever met Southgate I’d shake his hand and say thank you but having said all that Theo we have to admit we have been so damn Lucky in this tournament for most of the time we’ve medoc we still make the moments happen dad you know when olle Watkins turns his player in the 91st minute I know it’s solo moments that survived Us in this tournament but when Italy won the Euros in England they had their moments too sometimes you had average matches when Germany won a European Championship or the World Cup for example I spoke to German Thad about this he said they had games where they thought they were going to lose I’m seeing a lot of similarity with this England tournament what I’m really disappointed with is that you didn’t decide to book a flight to come to Berlin but you went to my sister’s graduation but today should have been the day you flew in put something in the comments about should Thug dad be there but let’s talk a little bit the question dad why aren’t you here because I have two children one of them’s got a graduation but let’s talk more about Spain Theo we have to say this they have been by far the best team in this tournament you’re right I I take your point on on three occasions we’ve been been behind and we’ve had moments of magic when a referee gave us a penalty that we really didn’t deserve that’s theate so let’s be honest we’re lucky to get this far but Dad you can’t deny though that against the Netherlands that was our best ever performance and if it wasn’t for Harry Kane’s penalty I’m sure Phil foden’s shot was very unlucky that that didn’t go into the top corner you know I think we had chances in that game where we could have scored three or four like you say we’re in a final and sometimes the winner of the final is not the best team yeah Italy four years well three years ago they were not the best team at the Euros but the history books will always show that they won it can win on Sunday of course we can they were more relaxed and they were more chilled out in the final and that’s because there was so much pressure over lockdown and then all of a sudden we’re in a final and we’re playing and we score early on the penalties was too much pressure for those Lads but now four years later with those experiences built up over time we’ve never had a better chance if we win it here I will not be sleeping for the 24 hours onwards of that match Spain missed three key players they missed lont they missed pedri and carhow in the semi-final they still beat France how much of a problem are the are these experienced Lads in that Spanish team for us well rodri Theo is simply one of the best players in the world if not the best because when he plays for Manchester City or Spain they almost never lose and you’ve also got three players I think who’ve got four or more goal contributions in this Tournament of course lamin yamal I think he’s 17 years old today let’s hope he’s going out on the r happy birthday because he has been Magnificent the youngest player ever to score at of Euros he’s won for the future Almo I would say he for the Future these are special players I don’t think he’s one for the future I think he’s W for the now how do we deal with him well you know what the irony is Theo in the past in games against the likes of Slovenia and Slovakia and Denmark and Serbia we were saying England should be more creative we should be more positive we should play some free flowing football ironically against Spain there is there is an argument for us to be more Gareth Southgate in our tactics to try and grind out a nil nil or a oneall and take it to 120 minutes and take it to to penalties because we’re now very confident when it comes to penalties if we play like we did against the Netherlands I think we have a great chance we have an incredible Squad depth to bring on Cole Palmer Ole Watkins Ivan Tony it’s just added strength and really scares opponents Spain won’t like that if I look through their defense uni Simon in goal I’d rather have Pigford lenamond and lorte at the back lorte is in the Saudi league and I don’t think he’s at the level anymore lamond is decent don’t get me wrong yes Kar has had an outstanding tournament in caral at the back but we should be getting past that defense Dad I know Roger sits in front of it who’s the best player in the world there’s no doubt there’s a lot of holes in that Spain defense and if we attack at them I think we will score Theo the the semi-final against the Netherlands was a great game of football great to watch particularly that first half but there were times when we looked really vulnerable when they came through us like a knife through butter and I was thinking to myself if the Netherlands had been Spain they would have scored two or three goals against us and killed off that game what elvar matter up front are you scared ofar Mor Dad one thing that worries me I mean my friend of mine wrote to me and said Spanish teams or Spain in the last 23 years have been in 26 finals we’re talking World Cups Euros Champions League Europa League they’ve won all of them I’m going to point one thing out Fabian Ruiz in Spain’s Midfield is going to be player of the match him and rodri are going to really run the show they’re going to play some incredible passes they’re going to be relaxed they’re going to make some nice touches but somehow through 90 minutes we’re going to scramble goal back and draw 1-1 and then in extra time I have a weird feeling I don’t know why I’m saying this but Ivan Tony is going to score as the winner he’s going to have his Aaron Wilbraham moment for Bolton he’s going to come on southgate’s going to bring on Palmer Watkins but then for extra time I think he might just bring on Ivan Tony and I think he’s just going to find a way of scoring a header it will be English Heritage I will be telling my grandkids I was there this will all be about fine margins maybe a refereeing decision maybe a moment of magic from one of those incredibly big players in this game but I’m sorry I’m trying to look at this objectively I’ve looked at the first six games played by Spain and England I’ve looked at history and I’m saying that we will lose this one Spain to England one no Thug Dad how can you say that well part of me is hoping that I’m wrong again I want to be clipped for getting all this wrong I thought Switzerland would beat us I thought the Netherlands would beat us I’d like to be wrong again but I don’t think I will I just think we’re playing a better team who’s playing better who’s got a better record in major tournaments but if I’m wrong my goodness the bevies are out aren’t they on Sunday night if I can really end this chapter tomorrow and say yes we lifted that Trophy and I was there for
