Bernardo is playing too far forward. He can score and assist but he's best as the guy just before that. It's why he never shines for portugal like he does at man city. No excuse for Fernandes not a good performance. Leao has no excuses he being used as he should but never has brilliant moments for portugal. But despite 3 of out main players being trash we got the job done. Ronaldo no issues except he needs to be involved less in the build up because then there's nobody forward waiting for the pass. Martinez waiting until 88 minutes is Fernando Santos all over again.
I don't think Ignacio is all that great but he plays a 3 at the back at sporting. He's very good at lobbing balls forward.
Fernandes and Bernardo seriously have to step it up. With a squad this deep Leao has to be running the defense ragged expecting to get subbed.

I agree fully that Martinez forever gave a clue as a well played team coach to understand the dynamics of what Portugal needs in terms of a positive direction. He lacks the balls to make the right direction. It seems nothing has changed from the team direction of Fernando Santos. They lack decisiveness and unfortunately for Portugal and Renaldo and Pepe, who only have this at there last hurrah develops to be a very sad conclusion to their impressive careers. Please stop this lack of vision for those that have contributed a life to this game!!!
