France versus Spain a massive matchup and it was a history-making night for a certain Winger and for a certain me yet another reason to believe in Spain as the strongest team in this tournament look at who they have beaten so far I’m Adrien welcome back to euro daily and let’s [Music] talk the unthinkable happened more like the inevitable I guess in some ways as France finally scored a goal from open play but before we get there let’s consider the lineups a little bit as Kum muani started for the second match running but Griezmann was dropped for demele which makes a lot of sense like I said previously he was so so so dangerous when he came on to the pitch against Portugal demell that is deserved to be out there and in the Midfield rabio took his place back from kaminga it was only alone I guess for Spain they had two big holes to fill and they did so with 38-year-old jus Navas coming in at right back scary and nacho taking Lan’s place on that same side of Defense Spain looked dangerous early and nearly scored through a lovely floated ball to the back post from yamal but Fabian ruiz’s header was offt Target very good opportunity would they live to regret it you can see the score you know whether they did or not early doors and mbappe looked like he was foaming at the mouth at the prospect of playing up against Jesus Navas rather than his future teammate Dany carvahal Navas by the way became the oldest Outfield player to play in a European Championship or World Cup semi-final Kum muani showed moments of danger and his face was also shown the turf as nacho accidentally on purpose shoved it into the ground as he stumbled over him but eventually a switch of play from demele to mbappe saw mbapp tiptoe along the edge of the Box before playing attempting ball floated to the back post and kumani was able to nod it in all alone now that was his first goal since February 10th he finally got it after being robbed against Belgium not robbed he just hit a shitty strike speaking of people who have been wanting goals for a while not since February but in this tournament lamin yamal his play has been deserving of a goal in this tournament and he was yet to have it well good things come to those who wait incredible things happen to incredible talents who wait I guess and the way he shimmed away from rabio to make space on his left before unleashing a perfect curling strike that bounced off of the post and in mam Mia that was that was a mam Mia moment so the kid who turns 17 the day before the final becomes the youngest ever scorer in Euro’s history at 16 years 11 months and 27 days old guys did you hear that yamal is Young also it was incredible that he did that up against rabio of all people rabio was trying to play mind games with the kid in the yesterday’s press conference saying things like they’re going to make yamala extremely uncomfortable out there and that he needs to do more than he’s done until now in this tournament well there you have it then following Rio’s comments yamal posted this on Instagram pretty cringe but he is only 16 after all he could be way more cringe than that and anyway he certainly spoke with his actions now prior to Spain scoring I found myself thinking about France about the Darth this is Darth Didier now that they have a goal surely he’s going to get them to sit back a bit and play safe once again not sure if it was completely the case here but Spain really began dominating play after conceding probably a mix of Spain stepping up and France perhaps sitting back a bit more two things can be true at the same time and just 4 minutes after yam’s goal they got another one a CR into the box was headed away from CBA but ulo was there to control it and with a nasty touch he got it away from shuami and smashed it low toward goal off of kundai and in they gave it as a no goal at first then reverted it back to olmo as he deserves man has scored in three consecutive knockout matches in this tournament now he’s been unbelievable for them also unbelievable in this context of the tournament that is but France conceding more goals in 25 minutes of this match than in the entirety of their tournament combined anyway the rest of the half played out in a similar fashion with Spain looking the more dangerous team while in the second half France had some dangerous moments early there was the shuami header the most dangerous of them all in the early times as well as Navas getting run a bit ragged by mbappe and pulling something I think he went off injured unfortunately though being 38 at this stage of the tournament against a dude like mbappe it’s going to happen so Navas off for Vivian and nacho moved to right back which is how I thought they would would actually line up from the beginning but they went the other direction how did nacho do at right back pretty good for their part France made a triple sub after an hour bringing on barola Griezmann and kaminga for rabie oant and kumani France trying to get their attack going but every time they would press up on the Spanish players the Spanish players would just knock the ball to one of their fullbacks that was up on the pitch right on the touch line and bypass them easily later my dream would come true with jiru entering the pitch not exactly my dream but something that as a neutral in this one I would have wanted to see earlier as France often don’t have a presence in the Box in this tournament it’s really crazy to see and when you think back on what’s different from this tournament compared to other ones no jiru however Spain did have a scare in the 76th minute when Fabian Ruiz took a poor touch inside his own box the second time he’d done that and tail hammered it over the bar maybe on his left he would have hit it under the bar but it was on his right unfortunately but he wasn’t the only one who boinked one over the bar Killian mbappe had an opportunity where you would have bet on him to score nine times out of 10 running at PACE against Defenders who are backtracking cutting inside with so much space between him and Vivan and he put it way over the bar that felt like the moment in this French setup with Griezmann out there with barola with xiru this felt like the team that should have started but Darth Didier wants to be so reserved at the end of it all France could have find a goal mbappe and Tao coming the closest you could say but nothing closer than that Spain win once again their sixth win in a row at this tournament and they just look like a team that is rolling their way to the title every Challenger that has come up against them has been dispatched [Music] of but even then they constantly showed that they can conjure magic at any moment because every single player in this team no matter the position is so unbelievably technically gifted I mean just look to what Fabian Ruiz was doing to keep possession and cycle it around during stoppage time of the second half everyone can do it on that team from defense to the attack keep the ball resist the Press from opponents and drive their opponents crazy because the identity of Spanish football is so so deep it’s so ingrained in every single player they are so fluid and perhaps the most cohesive team in the entire tournament when it comes to playing with an identity and playing effectively within that identity top quality players who are happy controlling matches or killing you on the counter with the Stars that they also have in Williams and yamal their success in this tournament makes sense and they are thoroughly deserving of being in the final on Sunday no question it’s nice when that happens in international football or just in tournament ball in general oh and where previously Barcelona held up the Spanish national team the north is having their moment as Spain ended the match with five basks and a Naran out there shout out to the north of Spain anyway as for France like I said before I think that Darth D never figuring out their attack and seemingly being happy with simply not conceding goals and seeing what they can get is the big problem with their tournament not conceding can only get you so far eventually you have to start being a threat in the attack and France were a perfect example of that it was plain to see that they had no presence in the Box no presence through the middle at all when turam was on he favored one side mbappe the other and nobody through the middle same deal with K muani maybe di will regret not playing jiru More in what was his final International Tournament which is a shame respect to jiru he retires from the international team as Fran’s alltime top scorer with 57 goals as for the guy who will pass him in the scoring charts probably mbappe it was an extremely forgettable tournament for him not just because he got his nose rearranged but because his finishing was quite poor by his own standards one goal from a penalty and the rest were all either tamed for the keeper or on the wrong side of the post or flying over the are like like his chance with just a few minutes remaining in the match super forgettable for him and France but France have a good solid young base and will continue to be a top Contender for any tournament they go into would love to see a coach that doesn’t play so negatively though maybe negatively is the wrong word but Darth Didier is a coach who plays so contently like when they aren’t conceding but they aren’t winning he seems to be happy still that’s a shame with the talent he has in this team anyway we’ll soon see who Spain will be playing on Sunday as tomorrow we have the Netherlands and England I’ll be here tomorrow assuming I don’t lose power or something due to the storm that’s coming but I intend on being here
