De Bruyne appeared annoyed at the concept only being applied to Belgium, and highlighted other countries, before he was heard to mutter the word ‘stupid’ as he left the media zone.

  1. He doesn't need to give an account to an image that you guys painted.. Was it the players that addressed themselves as the golden generation or you guys?? So even if they have failed to win anything with all these gifted players, it wasn't their responsibility to fulfill your goals or expectations.. And this is what I hate with people like you guys, who place their expectations or dreams upon others, as if it's their responsibility.. If you wanted to win trophies, why didn't you go and pursue it on your own?? In addition to that, it wouldn't be the fault of the players, they just couldn't find the right manager.. But like I said, they shouldn't have to give an account for an image that they didn't create for themselves..

  2. It’s a called a golden generation because Belgium doesn’t regenerate top talents like the other countries he mentioned. Once their golden generation is gone, Belgium will slowly become an average football nation again.

  3. I feel that people are overusing words with great meanings describing mediocre things in today's world.
    "golden", "legendary", "Godly"…etc
people use these words to describe above average things. it is not just in football, everything is being labeled "greatest" easily these days, those words are slowly losing it's meaning.
