During the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, US-American athlete Shawn Johnson participated in all four team events, contributing to the United States’ silver medal. Individually, she clinched the silver in the all-around competition with a score of 62.725, while her teammate Nastia Liukin secured the gold with a score of 63.325. This marked the inaugural occasion where the United States Women’s Gymnastics team claimed both gold and silver in the individual all-around event. It was also the fourth instance of a nation achieving this feat in the history of the competition.

In the floor exercise, she earned the silver medal alongside Liukin, who secured the bronze. Additionally, Johnson triumphed with a gold medal on the balance beam, becoming only the second American, following Shannon Miller in 1996, to achieve this feat.
