Joe Rodon was a huge player for Leeds in the 23/24 season. there is a lot of talk about him moving in, but from a Leeds perspective how vital to our future is he and should Leeds fight to keep him?

Get this transfer done and quickly. Put a marker down by making Joe our first signing. Show everyone, including our own players that this is the level we need and expect from all
Joe Rodon was Solid shown experience expertise and a hunger to win and want to do well. He's exactly the kind of man we need. For 10mil this transfer for me is a no brainer. #Gethimsigned
Would like to keep Joe but only if the price is right.
We need him he's the best cb at leeds tbh . he needs a good left Cb next to him.
Why does Joe Wainman keep saying he is not worth £10m to Leeds as there are plenty of others we can get? Rodon has some of the best stats in Europe never mind the Championship. For me no. 1 signing in the window – build from the back.
Pretty irrelevant how much Leeds need him mate, if Prem clubs go in for him Leeds are out of the race.
They can offer more money and as long as he's going to be a starter, much more desirable for the players career.
I love him and he’s the heart of the defense. We need to find a way to get him
A loan player who was solid, particularly in combination with Ampadu and Gruev. Put side before self. Should sign him. He grabbed an opportunity with both hands for his own career and took it. Hopefully Aaronson does the same this year.
Thanks Locky. Unless we can get a better player for around the same money we should consider resigning Joe Rodon, we know he fits our system and has plenty of heart.
Hmm. Could we get two decent players for the same money?
Another great insightful video and your analysis is spot on. Some say we can get another player of Rodon's quality however as I like to point out loyalty and fight would be missing. You make a great statement about his knowledge of those he plays with and we would be starting from scratch by bringing in someone else. The man is the right fit for our needs, blas the decision is not ours.
In your previous video on Red Bull, I forgot to ask if the academy looks at preparing players for life after football. In AFL (Australian Rules Football) they do some work in this area, especially with younger players.
I love Rodon
Yep the partnership Rodon & Ampadu
And Struijk could come in if needed
I agree totally Locky about this
All them attributes are worth even 15/20 mil
Love to see Joe back again for a Championship winning season but believe he’ll be destined to a Premier side this season.
Solid all round CD. The only criticism I have and it’s an area for improvement is forward passing that breaks the lines.
I think you said it was 82% but is that for all forward passes ie 5 yds forward to a midfielder or a pass forward to Gray who has taken a high position up the line when playing out?
To the eye I always thought he lacked that ability to break the line that Llorente showed for half a season and that better Premier CD’s possess.
He deserves a crack at Premier but we will quickly see if he is press resistant at that level as I felt he sometimes looked a bit hurried though that may just be his style.
As I say love to see him back and will be a big bonus if he does but I don’t think it’ll happen.
We should separate the need from the price on occasion.
We look at a figure and say “too much!” – never in the context of a deal structure because we tend not to see them.
Context is everything, continuity is a valuable element rarely considered.
If Joe chooses Leeds – in the context of PL offers, then we surely have our man.
The cost of successful integration can be high, look as far as Joel Piroe. 46 games and the jury’s still out.
Rodon is integrated, remove that from the cost side and add it onto the value side.
Is it still £10m, or is it less?
‘Sunk cost’ has to be factored in.
Sign him and do it quick!
if we can afford the big Welsh panda, then get him. 🐼 MOT
I’m just filled with dread, Locky. The last few weeks of last season were so mortifying, and I haven’t recovered. I hoped and believed that the club was poised and ready for the TW, with hard plans in place, particularly after the horror of the last TW. I expected them to move quickly with at least 2 key positions. It hasn’t happened and the rumours are frankly, really upsetting me-particularly around Archie. I would love Joe to stay but my pessimism currently is telling me that he won’t- that if he really wanted to give us another season, it would be done. I hope I’m wrong. I can’t shake off this feeling of fear. I wish I could have bounced back like most people!
He's a top class defender at this level..only fault is that he doesn't score goals. I think he's worth it because he's been tried and tested and plays for the shirt. Some Leeds content creators seem to think we could pick up the equivalent for 4m ..the same guys who said Joel Piroe was worth 10m when we bought him and then spent half the season on the bench..go figure???
He's probably worth 10m. But he's currently on premiership wages. We probably didn't pay his wage in full last season. If we could buy for 10m and talk him into a 40% pay cut in line with the rest of the squad. That would be good business and a great addition. We realistically want to loan him again if we can.
So important to have consistency at the back plus the defensive mid ie Rodon, Struijk, Ampadu. I still think Cresswell works as well, better on the ball than people think. Get Joe back!
Downside, big one – zero goals from 5,000 corners. Suspect Creswell and Struijk over a full season would score 5 to 10. Huge impact this…
Get it done now pay as much as it takes we need to put a marker down and show that we mean buisness togo out and destroy this league this season thats goes for every player we go in for MOT
