Gallagher is the correct choice to replace Arnold in midfield.He will bring energy,fight and balance to the team.Mainoo and Wharton are decent young players but have no experience at this level.
I'm amazed Gordon isn't starting as he's naturally left sided and we've lacked anything down that side.Southgate needs a performance on tuesday from the experienced players and if he dosn't get it,do the subs early enough for them to influence the game.
Were in the last 16 already so hopefully we'll get some momentum to carry forward.The result matters as it'll decide where we finish and what difficulty of opponent we get.However as ususal we'll probably go out to the 1st decent team we meet and obviously we'll be looking for a new manager after the tournament.

Everyone can see there's a massive problem after the last 4 games, apart from Southgate! If he thinks the issues will be solved by swapping Gallagher for TAA we really have have got problems and will be coming home empty-handed yet again.
Please, please, please, please sack Southgate ASAP and bring in a manager who is tactical aware!

If we look at the top nations in Europe they trust their young players. We have a wealth of young talent doing it week in week out at top clubs yet Southgate still coaches like hes a centre-half at Middlesborough, one nil up, park the bus, we have foden & Bellingham smashing Europe yet playing in a system that chokes them, Mainoo playing out of his skin and Cole Palmer as big a goal threat as anyone last season not used in games where we need goals. There's 7 games max at the tournament, whats he saving them for feckin christmas??
Can’t wait for Wharton and Mainoo to be thrown in at a crucial moment, despite barely playing any minutes across the tournament, and then being made scapegoats. Southgate knows how to destroy talent and overhype mediocrity (Gallagher, Phillips, etc)

Southgate is a woke uninspiring human. Does he ever smile? Has he got an ounce of motivation about it? He is a manager who got a touch when he came into the Mens Team, the quality is making him look good to the mediocre fans, of which there are many. The problem with English national football is, Heart and Desire. Italy, Argentina, Brasil, France and even Albania have an outlook of we are winners, as soon as they put their boots on and probably before that too. English players are not aware of being winners because its cultural. England Football is full of losers on the international scene.

The England team is not setup for success, Foden-Jude-Kane-Saka are incompatible… let me explain…
Jude plays a very similar role to Kane… both have wingers that are good goal scorers and not natural wingers to put crosses in… this is Vini Jr, Rodrygo, Sane Gnabry… this means both Jude and Kane drop in at will and arrive late to the box…
They both can’t play with a 9 or 10 in the same team.
To have the team play correctly, you’d need to drop both Kane & Jude, play Watkins upfront, Palmer/Foden behind him, Saka/Bowen/Gordon/Eze on the wings.
The problem is not necessarily in the midfield it’s the dysfunctional attack forcing the midfield to work extra time…

The striker usually leads the press. Kane is just ambling back. Sometimes a midfielder leads the press. The team needs to have a plan who leads the press. Equally important if the leader goes to press the others need to be alert and follow up.
