I have a weird thought that Southgate is going to do the following – With Foden going back to the UK, I think Southgate will use that as an excuse to drop him on Sunday, by saying he is tired and has not trained – Then England play the very mediocre team and WIN and Southgate will then use that as a reason for keeping a winning team – Southgate has never known how to deal with the Foden / Bellingham situation and this situation is going to play right into his hands BUT I hope I am wrong as Foden should be in that team

Over the last tournaments Shaw has been very important in Englands attacking on the left and seeing how poor we are on that side without him I can understand why Southgate decided to take a chance on including him and he would have taken advice from his medical team about his fitness. If they said there was a 75% chance he would be fit it was a risk worth taking.
