yes indeed that’s almost it from us here in dorf Germany before we go though we’re going to head to Berlin and we’re going to speak uh to my colleague talk sports Chief football correspondent Alex hugely underwhelming in terms of the performance last night yes they got the job done they to the group as seems to happen for G Southgate and major tournaments the draw has opened up for England and it’s almost inexcusable now in my opinion if england don’t get to the final obviously they could still play Austria who we’ll talk about in a minute but the fact France Germany Portugal Spain all find themselves on the other half of the draw gives England with so much talent such a huge opportunity what did come away thinking last night though with those scenes at the end when when Gareth Southgate was hit with a couple of plastic pint glasses they were thrown in his Direction I agree with Simon I think he deserves that he’s a good man he’s been a good Ambassador but I think the England fans have just about had enough of him and it wouldn’t surprise me if gal Southgate has had enough of being England manager I don’t see him continuing Either Way Beyond this tournament now what do you think of what Alex is saying there Simon I think he’s right I think the standard for England we should be judged as a failure and it should be judged as a failure if we don’t go very deep in this tournament or win it that’s the Benchmark that’s the standard and given the fact that the that that again he the boy that’s fall under a fourleaf clover go of Southgate gets a draw that gives him the opportunity so I think that should be the demarcation point and he’ll have his little fans in the media and Stuart Pierce that sits there you know can’t have anything wrong said about him that will say aha but we need to give Nuance the Nuance should be you’ve got a draw that favors you the standard should be your win and and going on to Alex’s point which I made no he shouldn’t be receiving people throwing beer glasses at him and stuff like that and give him you know unadulterated abuse cuz I think a little bit better than that Alex I know you’ve been to all their group games you’ve worked on them Austria what do you think a real Dark Horse yeah massively impressed with Austria Jim I was in amongst the France fans in the first game when they got beat uh by virtue of an own goal but I think they certainly deserved something from that certainly the French uh faithful were not sitting comfortably during that game and to back it up with it beating Poland in some style and then deserving Victors in a really good game here in Berlin against the Dutch yesterday fantastic atmosphere you asked me a couple of times about wreck Ralph has he redeemed himself well I tell you what’s speaking to the Austria fans he can do no wrong they absolutely idolize him and why not I think Marcel zitzer another player who may be underachieved at Manchester United has really impressed me in this tournament Marco anovich bit of an enigma really from his time in English football I think he’s been terrific leading the line as well they’re going to cause a few teams problems no doubt about a few minutes left Alex couple of transfer stories what news do you bring us yeah interesting situation with M Greenwood I think we touched on him a couple of days ago and his future away from Manchester United there have been suggestions that if they don’t sell him before preseason training starts then then maybe they’re going to have to open arms and welcome him back I think United are still planning not to do that I think they’re committed to selling him this Summer they’ve rejected one bid already from latio I’m told interest not just from Italy but also from Germany from Spain and from Portugal the key here is the United looking for 40 million pound because obviously they need to bring in some money to help rebuild the squad but at the moment no suggestion as far as I’m concerned that Mason Greenwood will be seeing the Manchester United shirt anytime soon Simon what do you think of that 40 million for him anyone out there prepared to as a player as the player that we saw before all of this um for all of his conduct superseded his football ability he’s worth4 million P he’s a br brilliant player that was that was had had great such great opportunities but unfortunately because of his behavior he’s put himself in a situation where he’s a little bit of a pariah and to some extent given what we’ve heard and seen he he merits that um but he will go on and play another leagues and United will get a decent fee for him because he’s worth it yeah one of two Chelsea fans here last night talking to us Alex chelse and England and H have you got Chelsea news for us this lunch time yeah it looks like Alexander isach is a striker on their radar and why would he not be I think when fit he’s proved himself to be absolutely superb at Newcastle I wrote a story earlier this week suggesting that Bruno gimar rash and isach were the two players that Newcastle really wanted to keep above all others but the understanding is that there has been a conversation at least between Chelsea and Newcastle to find out about his availability I think it would take an offer probably in excess of the5 million pound that they paid Brighton for Moises kaisa I’m not sure even Chelsea will go that far in this window but again we’re ticking down aren’t we to June the 30th Newcastle going to have to sell someone I think between now and then in terms of PSR I don’t think it’ll be isak or gimar but who knows they might just get desperate Alex thank you very much indeed Alex krook with us in Berlin keeping AC course all the transfer news there’s hardly day goes by that we don’t mention Chelsea and we don’t mention Chelsea either in terms of saying goodbye to such and such a player or trying to get in such such a player they’re constantly in the news big Club yeah a lot of money being spent by them and obviously a season last year that resulted in what they will perceive to be under achievement the changing of a manager the bringing in of a new one and signing a play if they could like isack he’d be some player for Chelsea um because I think he is what they’re missing in terms of a top quality Striker I don’t think uh what’s his face Nicholas Jackson so desperately unhappy about pochettino leaving is a solution to their problems getting better during the course of season but still somebody that missed more chances than he scored um and Chelsea will be an interesting one because we’ve seen they they’re navigating their way through the through the the financial landscape which I always felt they did they would by hook or by crook yeah metaphorically speaking um and and and it’ll be an interesting something what will be interesting is to see how much money is spent in this uh August transfer window yeah last year was 2.3 billion wasn’t it let’s see I I don’t think it will get anywhere near that cuz I think the major players in some of that were Chelsea um who probably accounted for about 16% of it I don’t think they will this year okay we we have been broadcasting from our base here in dorf in Germany I mentioned it the other day there’s a little LR just around the corner I’m heading there very shortly Simon uh with some
