Schmeichel talking himself around the houses and making no sense at all. Two teams arrive at the final and one team wins, has little to do with the manager. Surely it has a lot to do with the manager. The team plays in the image of the manager, the manager organises them. When they took the lead in that final, they did the standard negative thing under him, sat deep and got deeper until Italy finally scored. As much as it would have been his success if we’d won, that was his fault.
As for pressure being a negative thing, what a load of bullocks. He then later suggests every big nation is demanding the same thing so which is it? Bizarre attempt to defend something he can’t actually believe.
The biggest problem for the Men's English National Football is the English media, and people like Simon Jordan coming out with the kind of nonsense he keeps spouting. The pressure the players and manager are under from the media is RIDICULOUS, and it does massively impact on them. Peter Schmeichel and Denmark won Euro 1992 as there was zero pressure as no one expected them to even get out the group stages!!

2) if Pep or Klopp was England manager they would play better and win. Southgate is Championsship level.
3) No, Mancini beat Southgate on that day at Wembley, England were at Home, had much better players but blew it

People question why England players don't play like they do for their clubs. I could be wrong (and I'm sure I'll be corrected) The Premier league players come from Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Brazil etc.
