  1. Musiala was born in Germany, has a German mother and a Nigerian father. He moved to England when he was 7.

If anything, the question should be, why on earth he was in the English national team in the first place.

  2. I don‘t get why so many people feel disappointed that he chose Germany. He was born there, with his mother also being German. Obviously he could choose between the two since he moved to England at a young age. But then again I feel nationality should have to do with your roots to an extent. I for example wouldn‘t have liked to see Messi play for spain just because he moved to Spain at the age of 13. Yes, it was a close call and it could have gone either way (esp. with Brexit), but in my subjective opinion, I like it more if people choose the country they have deeper roots with.

  3. england should southgate because he is destroying the future stars of england and jamal musiala is one of them but he took the best desicion by choosing germany to be the best he could

  4. Its not true that england did not try. Both them and the germans did and he actively decided for germany at that time. He mostly played for english youth international teams but this was also mostly before he moved back to germany. Kind of unique uprising though. He basically speaks german with an eglish accent and english with a german one.

  5. Can’t blame him for saying yes to his country of birth. They won their 4th World Cup when he was 11 years old. That kind 9f thing leaves an impression on a kid.

  6. Just a small piece of feedback if you're open to it – Could you please not speak in such a whispery husky tone? It's one of the reasons I am considering unsubscribing.

  7. Making it seem like the guy who was born in Germany and lived their and has a german mother just picked Germany because Southgate didn't call him up…

  8. His dad is Nigeria and mother german. Moved to england at 7. Tbf it was more the german team didnt pick him up when young. He chose germany over england. Not that England didnt pick him, as obviously they wanted to if he played u17, u18 and u21.

  9. Honestly Southgate didn't do anything wrong. Musiala was very early in his career and to the English FA Musiala was an England player until otherwise. Southgate has learned from his mistake calling up Mainoo to avoid a Ghana call up.

  10. Someone needs to send this video to the FA and all premier league clubs so they dont make the mistake of ever giving southgate a job again. At least not until he goes to manage the youth team of a championship club.

  11. Honestly, I've been a supporter of Southgate this whole time, until I watched this video. How can you miss a kid like this when you are the manager of England's U21's?!…The kid has been a role model since primary school…
