TAA will never be a Tony Kroos or a Rodri so i dont know why people think he can play with his back to the ball and hopefully play 5 or six long balls in a game and that’s enough, he does not have the appetite for the work in midfield.

Why dont they ever bring on a striker and move kane behind as a 10? England are as flexible as a brick.

Pickford: TAA, Walker, Stones, Saka; Rice, Bellingham; Palmer, Foden, Bowen; Kane

They brought TAA into the team to whip in crosses…I don't remember a decent cross from him all game.

This is the problem of the English national team: There is no proper 'idea' behind the way they play. A lot of great players all just doing 'something' on the field is what it looks like. This is something all national teams have trouble with, but the English national team somehow most of all. They need a manager with a simple clear idea of how they want to play and to train these patterns. And what about Foden? Most managers would commit murder to have a player with such qualities in their squad, but how England manages to 'hide' him on the pitch beats me.

People need to get off the lads backs look at how many teams that’s went 1.0 up and finished 2.1 this is a hard tournament to keep the lead fans are coming out in numbers so the fact we dug in and kept the 1.0 win am happy with, lets build on it for Denmark

The media should stop hyping us up to excessive levels. The pressure for the England mens team to finally "bring it home" is higher than it's ever been, and it's normally too high anyway.
We have a squad that is player for player very good, probably 8/10 (10 being 1970s brazil/peps barca kind of level), maybe even 9 on a very good day. But we shouldn't expect them to win with so much insistence, without a euros or worldcup trophy since 66. We have the most talented squad we've had for potentially decades, and thats why i think this is genuinely our best chance for years. Also, we really should've done alot better/probably won the euro final at wembley v italy. Any other top 10 team after going 1-0 up at home, against THAT italy side, would've probably won. We had a relatively easy path to the final at home, and the sheer fact that 0 substitutions had been made upto the time when the first 1 was, and after italy had made potentially risky subs taking off good players before southgate even blinked, was very instrumental in the result, as well as the strange negative stance taken by england, after the positive lead up to the first goal. However, the fact we probably should've won that final, is irrelevant this time around, as its not the same tournament, and history plays almost no part in the actions on the field, or ar least it shouldn't. You don't get given the next cup because you maybe should've won the last. It's not how it works. Football is less enjoyable when the expectation exceeds the hope and joy. And with england, this is so true. When we beat Germany 2-0, the country was in pandemonium.
It was truly a great day. Because most of us probably thought we'd definitely lose that. Thats what made it magical, and special. Thinking england should walk it, is ignorant and dismissive that france germany portugal spain netherlands etc exist. These teams will crush your expectations in minutes if you dont respect them. Where it is true that southgate has taken modern england to new heights, he's also fallen at the last hurdle by failing to even attempt to jump over it. Id rather England played well and lost to better teams earlier on in tournaments, then get so close, only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He seems to have too much faith in his team, to the point where he leaves them on the pitch when its clear a change is needed. When everyone else, the fans, the pundits, the opposition are confused why hes not made changes, the man in charge of doing so seems oblivious to the lack of action. He made refreshing and bold steps by taking this squad, he just needs to wake up during games. Less expectation on this squad to win the whole thing would make everyone feel better, including ourselves and the actual team. If southgate wakes up and starts making logical and needed changes, to subs and style of play, we could well win it. If he doesnt, it could seal our fate. And id rather get beaten by a big nation while throwing everythinv at them, taking risks, playing exciting attacking opportunity taking football, then losing to average teams because the manager made baffling decisions, and the team was too weighed down with the weight and pressure of expectation.

If foden and bellingham can't play together well , I think it's better to bench bellingham.
Both has a very good work rate but Foden is better in skills , vision , positioning , decision making , passing , so Foden is more efficient as number 10.
Bellingham have bigger body which is better for a target man , but overall Foden is better.
