Monaco midfielder Yousouff Fofana is 100% leaving the club this summer and has been on Manchester United’s list for over a year, according to Fabrizio Romano. Fofana wants a new challenge, and his ability looks incredibly suited to the Premier League. He has one year left on his contract, so Monaco would rather cash in now, instead of losing him on a free next summer. United are interested, so it’s about time we looked at how he would fit in…

  1. Ste can you have a look at anton stach from hoffenheim. I think he has very great attributes to be a top class 6, 6ft4 great defensive numbers and very good passer of the ball.

  3. If Utd only buy 1 midfielder I don’t think he is what is needed. As cover he’s an upgrade. Totally unrealistic but Neves, Mainoo, Fofana, and Amrabat would be a better midfield and bench than using Eriksen, McTominay, and Casemiro.
Are there any good utility players available capable of covering fullback and midfield that would make a good squad member? Amrabat at left back wasn’t great.

  4. Maybe it's just me but don't rate him that highly. Saw him come up with Tchouameni and was not impressed. Decent player but technically not great.

But he clears McT and seems cheap so I'm all in

  5. I personally think if you can sell eriksen and casemiro then bring in fofana and bring back amrabat, with mainoo and collyer being the 4 midfield double pivot rotation

  6. My take is this: With Casemiro out and Erikssen likely to go, United needs 2 midfielders just as we need 2 center-backs. I will go for Fofana and Neves. Fofan would be my number 1 because he combines high energy, aggression, and supreme technique. He's such an upgrade on Amrabat from the passing attributes alone. The second person in midfield should be Joao Neves (if we can meet the fees). Neves is such a gem and could be the stabilizing presence in our midfield for the next decade, much like Carrick was.

My third midfield option, which United should consider seriously if Neves wouldn't be possible is Adam Wharton.

Those 3 midfielders will all bring something we've not had in a long while. Physicality, cover for defense, technique, and play-making from deep.

  7. Onana, Wieffer, Fofana all seems to be good matches for United. My preference is probably Wieffer, but Fofana is probably a bit cheaper.

  8. Kobbie, Sofyan, Fofona, Bruno, Casemiro sounds really really solid. Mount getting to his best this season really can be a game changer for United

  9. Not sure why we are spending so much for Branthwaite, when for the same amount basically, we could get both Todibo and Fofana.

  10. It's very obvious that Fofana is leaving Monaco after deciding not to renew his contract with them. Therefore he should be available for around 20-25m which is a bargain considering what he'd bring to any team that signed him. He's definitely a signing United should be making. We'd be stupid not to

  11. Hope Ineos are smart enough to do smart deals,
right now being linked with brantwait for 70 mil and 150k wages doesn't sound like they are smart

  12. Bull crap he doesn't fit in. If man utd bought him it would be a complete disaster. This is a case of the blind leading the Blind. Howsons opinion when it comes to football is as good as an infants. This guy is a hype job. Get angel gomes back. How the clueless solskjaer allowed him to leave is beyond me. He should have been sacked then. Out with propaganda out

  13. 24/25 is the perfect age to sign a player in my opinion. Old enough to know what you're getting, so you won't get mugged of because of "potential", but young enough that they'll have sell-on value by the time their contract runs out (assuming 3/4 years).

  14. Youssouf Fofana would be a dream signing for Man United. Big, strong and high energy midfielder, a very powerful player but also a very skillfull player with a great touch. He would easily adapt to the Prem. Still he need to develop his reading of the game, but he is a great teamplayer and extremly hard working. Need to act quick a lot of other clubs are in for him and AC Milan have tried a few times already to sign him.
