  1. I said I wouldn't do it, but I did it: I listened to Shauyan again. Every time I do, his analysis makes me more nervous about the US's chances against Iran. I also want to say that even though the basic information is the same each time, Shauyan does a better and wonderful job of articulating it.

  2. Don't know why everyone is saying this is the best Iran squad ever, do people even remember 2006? Despite the poor results in that world cup for Iran, one look at the team sheet and I think it's clear to see that was a better squad on paper than today. Mahdavikia, Karimi, and Hashemian all in their prime years, plus emerging stars like Nekounam, Shojaei and Teymourian, and an old yet still dangerous Daei. Not to mention many other great talented players like Zandi and Kaebi, and actual some actual decent centrebacks. A much more stacked team than today.

Another thing I have to say is that in all honesty, as an Iranian supporter, Iran did not play well at all in their first game against morocco last world cup, considering it was by far their easiest opposition in the tournament. I remember Morocco were by far the better team, and honestly should have won the game or at least had a draw.

Considering the caliber of Spain and Portugal compared to Iran, team melli played amazingly in those two games, and especially after seeing those performances, one would have thought that they ought to have done better against an easier team.

  3. I think Iran's gonna have a tough match against US unlike what shayan overoptimisticly says, and also i find US much stronger opponent than Wales. Either way I really hope Iran qualifies to quarterfinals 🇮🇷⚽🐆

  4. As a US fan I’m concerned about Iran but this dude has gone on every USMNT channel spouting the same crap. I expect USA to make it 2nd but if we don’t it will be the EU playoff team that gets out not Iran. They play England first and they have 0 chance to win. Teams that get 0 pts out of their first game never go through. Even if they do get out. Thinking they’d get past Senegal or Netherlands is an even worse opinion. Can’t wait to watch this guy cope and back track when they finish group play with 0-1pts.

  5. I'd argue that the chance of success for the Iranian national team at WC2022 is in the hands of the federation, the preparations for the previous two World Cups were a joke since the friendlies weren't against great teams and Iran missed FIFA days (friendlies) as some of them were either cancelled or not planned at all. Hopefully they'll get the preparation they need this time around.

We also hope that the U.S gov. and companies won't sanction our national team as they did back in WC2018 which led to the team being forced to buy kits from Adidas instead of being sponsored like the other teams.
Players also lost sponsorships and fans weren't able to buy the official kits of their national team. The Iranian players and fans don't deserve to be punished over political disputes and FIFA should also do a better job in that regard. Politics should stay out of the sport, especially when it tends to hurt the people who oppose these corrupt politicians.

I believe that England should be able to top this group as well and the 2nd spot will be up for grabs. Good luck to all teams, can't wait!

  6. iranians are just lack of good coach.
    carloz queroz should be back.
giving a very tough time to team like spain, portugal, argentina, i believe england is not as tough as those teams which i mention up.

  7. Just a correction, the Persian language should only ever be referred to as "Persian" and nothing else! "F A R S I" is the endonym of the Persian language not to mention the correct term/name is "PARSI"! Begins with "P" and not "F"!
It's like French and Français, one being the exonym and another endonym! Have you ever heard anybody refer to the French language as "Français"?!? No, so the same principle applies to the Persian language and people should start bothering themselves and reading and educating themselves!
    Peace

  8. Since this interview …. Iran fired Skocic … Re-Hired the popular QUIEROZ … Beat URUGUAY and drew with SENEGAL in friendlies in October held in Austria … at the same time there were massive street protests in IRAN … some players expressed support …. and now there is a lot of pressure on the team to express more opposition to the regime ……
When the team went to the customary visit to see the President before they left for Qatar, it caused a lot of bad feedback against the players for going there. Now we are in a World Cup but for the first time ever, the country is not fully in support of the squad. They have so much pressure on them. But if anything all of this may make those players more determined to succeed than ever. Each goal scored gives the player and the team to show something to the world about how they feel with what is going on at home. Let's see what happens. But the team is the strongest Iran has ever had. The key is if they get a point against England in the opening match. Beating Wales and USA is not out of the question. Let's see what happens.
